Dog Photography with the iPhone 11 Pro

Happy Thursday! Ahhh.. I couldn’t say no. I tried, I really did – then it happened. I had to have the new iPhone Pro 11. Why you may ask? Well, the easy answer is: the camera. Of course I did have a few other reasons, but let’s be honest here: I am a tech freak and proud of it it!

I really do enjoy the new camera though of the iPhone. The number one reason for me to upgrading a phone usually is exactly that: taking good photos. As I love to take snaps of everything, all the time – it only makes sense to have a good camera on hand in your phone rather than carrying around another, large and heavy one.

The iPhone 11 pro has 3 cameras at the back, and one at the front. The three cameras make it easier to shooting lighter photos in a dark environment. It also includes a wide angle lens now, which is super practical when trying to get more background into a photo. Or, when photographing your dog’s head and making it look like there is no body behind it! Ha – check out the below photo! How cute does Luna look here?

This below photo is also taken with the wide lens.

Another improvement is the sharpness of the images. You can go quite close to an object and have the same sharpness you would expect from a good camera (maybe not a pro pro camera, but a good one!). Also, you now have the option to edit your photos right after taking a picture. With the iPhone 11 pro, I can edit the exposure, the brilliance, the highlights, shadows, contrast, brightness, black point, saturation, vibrance, warmth, tint, sharpness, definition, noise reduction, or add a vignette! With all these new features for photo editing, there is almost no more need for fancy filters (even though you do find a range of filters in the app itself). Personally, I still stick to adobe photoshop lightroom and some of the filters I use there that I only have to slightly edit. Yet, I have tried all features of the photos app and with some practice, I can almost achieve the same results!

What do you think of the new iPhone 11 Pro camera? Anyone else that has tested and tried it these days already?

What a lovely day it was yesterday! I was able to work from home as the rest of the team is out of office. It also allowed me to go out with my love and our two fur-babies and enjoy the sun at around noon. Yesterday was such an amazing weather; I really cannot get over it. Today is rather cloudy and a few drops of rain are supposed to hit down on us. Otherwise not all too much happened – a regular work day, I guess. We will have a friend over tonight for BBQ so I am looking forward to that.

I also started going to the gym again. Really not the biggest fan haha :) I guess I need to get into my routine again. But then again, it surely is healthy and allows me to calm down after a full day of stress. Or even get more energy when working out before the day starts at the office (though let’s be honest; I am not a morning person whatsoever!).

ps. sorry for the photo quality – I only had my iPhone with me and had to brighten up the photos for you to see anything :)

Japanese Chicken Udon

sooo yummy!

Here’s to another super quick and easy recipe! We really felt like an Udon soup these days and decided to go for this recipe. Their blog in general has really good and healthy recipes that are super easy to make and surely filling. I think I will be browsing their blog a little more in the future to try and make some of their meals. Only recommendation: do add some chilli flakes if you like your food a little spicy! Also, we did not have Swerve or Monkfruit so we went for a teaspoon of Agave syrup instead. Tasted perfect either way!

Other than this recipe, there is nothing all too exciting to share. A normal Tuesday indeed. We are currently also planning our Friday and weekend. On Friday we may be driving down to Thun (Switzerland) to a military site and check out the stuff there. Since Samuel is very involved with the military he was invited to come over and asked me to join. I still need to check how much work I have and if I can make it happen.

On the weekend we will be driving up to Frankfurt so visit some friends that Samuel has known for long. They just got their second son and also (!!!) a puppy. I am super happy to see them again and spend some time away from home. Though driving up and down on two days is quite a bit. Thankfully, it should only be around 4h if we don’t hit any major traffic.

She is alive!

We have our little monkey back at home! As imagined, of course, all went well. I’ll be honest though: I was such a cry-baby at the vet. Poor Zaphira – I probably did not make it easier for her. She fell asleep in my arms though and then was taken to surgery. The surgery went really fast. We also decided to only take the right dew claw away, as that is the one that is causing her so much troubles and there is no need to take out the other one.

When picking her up she seemed semi awake. How wrong I was! She has been sleeping all of yesterday and only got up on the early evening when we served her favourite dinner. Of course ;).

Also we have Fridolin here until Sunday so that is a nice change. Zaphira seems much more active again this morning so I think we can walk for a bit longer with the dogs today. Unfortunately it is supposed to rain so let’s see how the weather will continue and what we will be doing. We certainly have no real plans for the weekend except for chilling a bit and (ugh) I really need to clean the apartment again!

Finishing off my new apartment

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone! It’s been a while and my days have been filled with travelling, busy work days, spending some quality time with loved ones, enjoying nature with Zaphira and – trying to finish the new apartment!

I am proud to say that it is almost done. Well, it’s been “almost done” for about 3 weeks now. I managed to more or less unpack everything within a weekend – finished a few last boxes the weekend after and now only have one room semi-undone left: my home office. Although more or less everything is already at its place, it still feels a little cold and not as inviting as it should. My biggest issue: I cannot work in a place I don’t feel 100% comfortable in.

This week, however – if I am lucky – my two carpets should arrive that I ordered. One for the living room, and one for my office room. I’ll then need to add a few last details, put up some pictures (some walls got repainted so I had to wait) and hopefully I am rather done then. Of course, my apartment is ALWAYS a work in progress and I love switching things up from time to time. Yet, the basis should be done in the next few weeks. At least that is my plan before I leave for my next trip!
