Bread and Boxers Loungewear

wearing the soft bra from Bread and Boxers

Happy Tuesday! It is SO hot outside, you have no idea! Nevertheless, I am trying to soak in as much sun as possible – especially because I have the feeling winter is just around the corner. Seriously, it always goes so fast.

This morning I wanted to use the chance to share with you some of the pieces from Bread and Boxers that I was able to try and absolutely fell in love with. It is a Swedish company and uses the best cotton for the products – hence, the amazing soft feel fo the fabrics! And honestly – the packaging is just so cute! I wouldn’t be sharing this with you guys if I wasn’t really convinced of the comfiness.

I have been following them on Instagram a while now and just discovered their cooperation design with Sara Biderman. I’m really digging the loungewear pants and hoodie (find it here) and think I may be ordering those next! Forgive me, closet!

Speaking of my closet.. I really, really, really need to clear out my wardrobe again. It is seriously about to burst. I know for a fact that I have a few pieces in there that really need to go to into the bin – hoodies I love but have holes in them, super old shirts and pants I just have not worn in forever. So that is a goal I want to accomplish in the next few weeks! Also, I just bought some new stuff at Zara yesterday and so I surely need space haha :)

New Whites

Happy Sunday! Remember when I spoke about wanting to change my interior a bit and freshen things up with more white? Well, it happened faster than expected – and I am so happy with the result. I finally got myself a new sofa yesterday, and it completely changed the feeling of the room. It’s much fresher, welcoming, and lighter than before. I loved my old sofa – no doubt – it was a really good one, of great condition, and extremely robust. Yet, it wasn’t white. Most people actually warned me and told me not to get white. The typical “what if it gets dirty?”, “it will be so much work to get it cleaned everytime”, “you won’t be able to eat or drink near it anymore” arguments and questions came down on me daily. Still, I insisted. I did not want to spend too much money on a new sofa and fell in love with this Ikea Ektorp 3-seat one. I picked it up with a friend yesterday morning (after having sold my old one Friday evening) and built the whole thing in less than 2 hours – by myself. It really isn’t hard. I remember 10 years ago, Ikea furniture often turned into an hour-long nightmare. This one was super easy, though, and the covers were put on super fast. What I love about it, is that you can change the covers often, wash them and it doesn’t take long to put them on. You can also buy new ones or choose a different color. Of course, I can’t speak from experience yet, but so far I love it! If you want, I am happy to share my thoughts in a couple of weeks/months, too. By the way – I got asked this several times – the white “&” pillows are one of my newest additions, and can be found in Manor (Zurich) for only CHF 15 each. They also have cases with different letters on them, so do check them out if you’re looking for something modern and fresh.

After spending a night in on my sofa yesterday (I really needed a calm night), I woke up only to have one of my favorite breakfasts on my new couch. I prepared a chia-pudding last night, added rasberries and topped it off with a peach! If you like, I’ll share my recipe with you – it really is a 5-minute act only.

Now I’ll go outside and enjoy the weather a little. It’s lovely sunny in Zurich and I thought I might go walk around a bit and explore nature!

BW&G Basics

Black, white and grey – there’s seriously no easier combination when it comes to clothes. I love polyore for making these collages – and for finding some amazing deals online.

With fall having arrived, it’s time to unpack those thicker cardigans, those ponchos, hats and scarfs. Alright, the hat might not yet be needed – but honestly, how cool is it? And there is probably no easier way to hide a messy-hair-day. This hat is my next buy for sure.

This grey cardigan/light jacket is amazing and under $50. For it not even being on sale, it really is an amazing catch.

I’m really in need for some new biker boots, as my old Zara ones just don’t do it anymore and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this pair from Moschino. What’s your opinion on it?

This tshirt is an absolute eyecatcher and gives all others an easy way to approaching you – there’s no cooler way of starting a conversation over a unicorn. Seriously.

These frends headphones are already in my collection and a go-to item when on the road. I couldn’t live without music and especially for those long fall walks I love having some music ring in my ears. Only need to be careful to not sing out loud with my favorite songs. :)

Leatherpants are a must-have in every closet, every year. You can wear them all the time, to almost all occasions (seriously, I’ve worn them in business before). They are warmer then jeans so it’s really my first grab in the morning when temperatures drop. These ones are a perfect fit.

I’m still looking for the perfect black scarf, and this one really caught my eyes. Surely a cheaper version though, as I’m still not convinced on the price for such an accessorie. Any opinions?

As much as I am complaining about the cold, I cannot wait to wear some of my thicker autumn and winter clothes – there’s just so much to combine! I’m throwing out quite a bit again to make more space for new shopping purchases. Cant wait for the next shopping runs!

I’ll surely keep you up to date on my purchases. Till then, I wish you a great continuing week. xo

TRAVELING THE NETHERLANDS: JILL & CO LIFESTYLE N°2

Thursday already! Isn’t it great? I love working, being active, and surely cannot sit still for very long. Yet, I am looking forward to this long weekend ahead. Long because I took off Friday, to see one of my besties that is visiting from Sydney. I will be showing her around Zurich and we will catch up on everything that has happened in the past year – and surely, there is quite a lot!

Looking through my files I noticed I had not shown you the second half of the pictures I took at the incredible Jill & Co Lifestyle store – the first post is found here. How amazing does this bedroom look, please? It makes me want to re-decorate and re-furnish my whole apartment. At least the bedroom (except for those lamps and the one or other detail that is simply too much). One day – and this is a promise to myself – I will have this sort of style throughout my apartment. It looks so inviting, so comfortable, warm and yet clean. Simply said, it makes you feel home after only being there a couple of minutes. And have you noticed the incredible floor?

My mom and I have some more shops that are on our must-see list. I am probably driving up to Germany again at the end of October for a longer weekend, which we will then use to drive to Holland for a day or two to run-through our list. I am so excited, it’s almost childish! The best part is, it will be around my birthday, so I have the best excuse yet to buy myself a present, or two – or three, whilst we’re at it!

For now though, I am looking forward to tonight. We are having dinner with an old family friend that my dad knows since they were about 19 years old, and whom knows me since I was born. I haven’t seen him in a couple of years now so I am really looking forward to catching up over dinner and a few drinks (yes to good wine!). Until then, I’ve got quite a bunch to go through at work and will continue my future house-day-dreaming in between.

Have a lovely Thursday. xo

Overnight Chia Oats (GF, DF)

0 Permalink

It’s finally April – already! Have you fooled anyone? I used to do that when I was younger all the time, but I’m lacking the creativity to fool anyone nowadays – or maybe I’m just too nice for it! My day has been quite calm after yesterday’s surgery on my right wrist. It sucks – I am right handed and suddenly I feel so handicapped, well, I am actually! I’m wearing a huge blue cast for the next 2 weeks and then my physiotherapy starts. I saw my surgeon/doc today, who wanted to do a first check after yesterday but everything seemed fine (other than the normal swelling). Other than that I really haven’t done much. I finished an assignment for uni, but it took forever when only being able to write with one hand. I am hoping for a little less pain in the upcoming days so that I can at least type normal again! However, here’s to my actual post: Overnight Chia Oats! I am a huge breakfast lover as you all have noticed by now; a foodie in general. Since everything in my kitchen is made gluten free (GF) and dairy-free (DF), I have amended the normal overnight oats for me to be able to eat them. I love it so, so much – and have it regularly for breakfast at the moment! Especially with fresh fruit, such as strawberries and raspberries – there is nothing better. It is super quick to do and since it is done the night before, you have breakfast ready within seconds upon waking up.

Here is what you need:

– ½ cup buckwheat flakes (or any other GF oats)
– ¾ cup almond milk (or any other DF milk)
– 1 tbs chia seeds
– fresh fruit (or any other topping of choice)

Here is how you do it:

– Mix the buckwheat flakes and chia seeds in a mason jar (or similar glass)
– add the milk and mix once more

– add the fruit of your choice (or add them in the morning) and place the jar into the fridge
(make sure the oats get an overnights sleep of at least 6 hours!)
– enjoy upon awakening :-)

I find this quick and easy fix breakfast amazing for the summer, as I prefer warm oats or porridge in winter. With more fruit being available in summer (at least here in Zurich), many more variations of this delicious breakfast will be made for sure. Since I’m always on the lookout for more inspiration, do tag your version of it with #OvernightChiaOats on Instagram and I’ll make sure to check it out! Till then, I wish you a great continuing week. xo
