Happy second advent loves! It’s only two more weekends, two more candles, and then Christmas is right around the corner. I’ll be honest I am a little stressed this year with presents, and its seems I am not the only one. Family and friends have been asking me what I want for Christmas, and quite frankly – I cannot think of anything proper. There are a lot of things I see when I am on the go, a lot of things that would be nice to have, but really are not needed, or of course, there are the things that look amazing and you really do kind of want them, but they are too expensive to request them as a gift. That is exactly my position. My goal this weekend was to pick out some items, in no particular order of what I like best to least, but in different price categories with most of them in the rather affordable staple. I noticed that I love myself some nice watches and sunglasses – have you seen this color from the Dior glasses yet? Ahhh – I want them. And the watch, which is almost always sold out (typical, when you want something!). The boots and iphone case are actually found on one of my favorite websites (BestSecret.com), for which you need to be a member to shop. You only become a member through an invitation as far as I know – but do drop me a short note with your email if you want to be added! Another item that is really high on my (personal) list is the BeoPlay speakers – listening to music is like kissing the soul on the right spot. I always have music on when I am in the apartment and what I would love now is a speaker that I can take with me from room to room (let’s not forget I cannot have a huge bass station in one room and kill the neighbors by putting it too loud). The links with the items is right here:
What are you asking for this holiday? Or even better, what are you gifting? I really need to stock up on some more presents, otherwise the tree will look a little empty this year. For now however, I wish you all a great Sunday. xo
It’s Monday already – again. Thankfully I still have vacation this week though, I’m absolutely loving this. Not doing anything special, living each day as it comes, being with the family, staying all cozy inside if it gets cold outside (it’s freezing here at the moment). And, I guess I have been working a few hours today: I couldn’t watch my mailbox grow every hour, so I had to clean that up a bit and replied to a quite a few. I’m also starting to fill my calendar again for the upcoming weeks – so much to do, so many people to meet, so many small projects I want to work on. I’m really looking forward to 2015.
Speaking off, do you guys have or do new years resolutions? Deep down inside I always have a few, but I never really followed them strictly and then I stopped making resolutions. I want to top and exceed what I’ve managed to do the last year. I want to continue growing (sadly I can’t grow in height anymore, haha!), learn more, discover more, keep this blog going and growing, travel more, and and and.. the usual, I guess?
This post however is supposed to be, as promised yesterday, about a few presents I got from the family. I love presents – well, who doesn’t, really? But in the end it’s not about the presents at all, it’s about the thought behind it, the thought of trying to make someone happy, trying to find something worthy, writing the right words on a card to keep, making people smile and sometimes tear of joy. Jeez, I’ve become so teary – I almost started tearing when we read out the letters we received from ‘Santa’ (my grandma wrote them). The words were so loving, so warm: it made me melt.
Now, here are some pictures of my lovely presents I received.
I got a lot of stuff for the kitchen and interior in general – my family knows me too well. Living in ‘Style’, i.e. feeling cozy, is super important to me at home. The wooden board for cutting and for taking pretty pictures (yep, that was the aim) is hand-made by my mother. How great is that?
The fur is amazing – I also received a second one. It’s for my balcony in Zurich, so that I don’t freeze my ass off (excuse me) when sitting outside in the winter. I love it.
Are those socks not the cutest thing in the world? Can’t wait to wear them! Thank you to my lovely sister (also for the book and the amazing tea).
Oh, and isn’t this watch so pretty? I love it! I The pictures are not the greatest currently I admit, but I’m sure I’ll be showing the individual things sooner or later in different posts were appropriate.
Now I’m off to preparing dinner. Wishing you a great evening. xo
Happy Friday everyone! I can’t get over how fast time passes – it’s incredible! Today I want to share another style combination for you. I love combining my day outfit, so that it can easily be transformed to a nights out event. It’s incredibly important for me to look chic during the day for business and then be able to easily pull-up the outfit for when I’m out; without having the time to majorly change. So I love taking a pair of shoes and a shirt with me to work if I know I’ll be out in the evening again. Of course, this outfit is not something I would wear with clients – it’s not thaaat professional, but it’s a good, easy and chic “casual” outfit for winter. What’s really important to me is to always have a few items that I like to call the Allrounders – those that I can wear both at day and night with easy combinations.
With the winter coming now – ok, it’s freezing autumn already – I love wearing a pair of comfortable black leather pants. They are subtle enough to wear at day and glam enough for night’s out at a bar or club. Obviously, the major accessories such as a brilliant watch and some earrings are a no-brainer. And mascara! I cannot live without my mascara from Chanel. I love getting ready in general, but often times I don’t have enough time to sit hours (just kidding!) in front of the mirror or I just cannot be bothered, and enjoy a day without makeup on. But I cannot live without my mascara – not even for that walk to the supermarket across the street.
This watch is actually a men’s watch – but hey: who says you can’t wear men’s fashion? I say you can! Actually, I already own two men’s watches, as I’m oftentimes into those larger, heavier watches. I love the contrast of a big watch to a females’ wrist. There’s just something about it – or is that only me, haha? In general, I believe one piece of jewelry can be make such a difference to the whole outfit. Take this watch, for example. On one hand it can be combined so easily with so many different styles. On the other hand, it already has such a presence that a) not many other accessories are needed and b) it almost is a reason to style the outfit a certain way. I also have some fine jewelry pieces, were I often have the feeling I want to style the outfit a little more femine – or in contrast: totally grunge!
I love how the below Allrounders can be easily worn during the day with a comfortable sweater (love that one – just bought it yesterday!) and a nice pair of biker boots and hat. Comes the sunset, come the heels. The great thing about leather pants is you can literally wear them with any kind of shoe – be it sneakers, heels, flats or boots: it seriously always works! And that H&M x Alexander Wang shirt (yes, in my collection already!): how cool is that? Now I only need those heels, clutch and watch. I can’t seem to get over these items!
It’s really no surprise at all: I am a huge Apple-Fan – an Apple freak, almost. It also isn’t too surprising that Apple would again take our breaths away and make us speachless with the power of innovation. Yes, there is a new iPhone, yes, there are two iPhones, yes, the payment method is forever changed, yes, Apple again has changed a way of living (think iTunes!), yes, it’s as stylish as ever. But what really took my breath away, is the Watch. Let’s face it, it might not be a surprise that one was presented, but: the features and the extend of this new innovation are mindblowing. Never, in my wildest dreams (and I can dream, like no other) did I imagine any of this.
The Watch is not only so super stylish – have you seen the rose gold edition?! – but so, so cool. My words are currently failing and all I can say is: I am so excited for 2015 and the release of this new iBaby (ha, new word!). I won’t go into all the innovate features one NEEDS to know, because I would bet most of you have either seen the videos, seen the pictures, read about it or been on Apple by this time. I must admit I was a tinsy, tiny, little bit worried, that the Watch might not be as stylish. Might not work with all outfits – think the business outfit vs. the weekend-slumber look (still, stylish). But how wrong was I: Apple obviously thought every detail through. Not only will they release different colors of the Watch, but also the bands are available in different materials, different colors and can be switched depending on the outfit, the mood or the activity. Think about it: one in black, one in steel, one out of leather for the weekend and a rubber one for the gym. It’s seems so classy, so timeless, yet it is still on-top of all digital-smart-watches on the market. I am absolutely impressed – as always. So yes, I will surely put some money aside for this beauty coming up early in 2015!
Let’s not forget the iPhone 6 (and 6 plus), though! I am not sure of what to think of the large edition, as it seems almost like an iPad mini to me – size wise, but I guess that is everyones own taste and opinion. What really blew my mind, as previously touched upon, is the new payment method coming along with the newly integrated chip. Apple pay is similar like itunes. itunes has changed our way of buying music – we barely go into shops anymore to buy CDs – or do you? I cannot think of anyone buying music regularly, not having an itunes account. Apple pay has the same potentials in my eyes. Who needs credit cards and coins in the future, when one can pay everything with a highly secured chip in the phone that is activated with their own fingerprint. I doubt that we will say goodbye to coins in the next few years. But give it a thought – if all new paying technologies are updated to work with Apple Pay, there really will be no more need one day for coins. Consequences? Well, shopping-addicts that loose sight and control of their savings (due to not having actual paper in their hands), well, might shop even more. Good for the industry, good for the closet and a hell-of-a-good practice for self-control.
Last but no least, for all those not wanting to buy the iPhone 6, not being able to afford it immediately or those just wanting to wait for another year or two (I will most likely keep my iPhone 5S another year), can upgrade to iOS 8. I used to get super bored of my smartphones before owning my first iphone (my first one being the iPhone 2). Since the iPhone, no boredom arises – ever. It’s so simple, yet so brilliant. With these amazing updates, I always feel like holding a brand new phone in my hands. Of course, I am also super excited for this new iOS 8 update coming out (most likely September 17, 2014).
Now my next question is: Will there be a new iPad presented this year, too? I guess the above easily shows how quickly (too quickly, maybe) I am amazed by these innovate, new, technological, yet classy and super-stylish products coming out soon. Below find a few screenshots from the Apple Website, of my favorite parts. What are you most excited about, if anything?
Good morning everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week so far and a wonderful sunday to end it! Sundays are my lazy days: literally, I do nothing really other than read my magazines, play around with some photography (I really need to practice my skills), cook, sometimes bake, and read. Today I will most likely do exactly that, paired with some tanning in the sun – the weather in Zurich is great currently – and catching up with some friends over the phone in Germany.
To start my lazy sunday I love having power breakfasts. Power, because I actually take time to make them, try to have them rich on vitamins and minerals and of course it should be yummy. Today I chose scrambled egg whites with red peppers added previously, some red peppers raw on the side and a large glass of my green juice. The juice was way too much, I made about one litre, so I will just sip on that during the day as well.
My bible for the day: the Vogue. It’s a cliché, I know. It’s always amazing to get some inspiration out of it and read the articles. Otherwise, I love reading my InStyle, Harpers Bazaar, and some other magazines I find during the week. This year my mother actually gave me the Vogue as a present. I get it every month for free now – yes, I’m a lucky girl. Here’s to say: Thank you Mama!
Do you also do lazy sundays or are they packed with activities? I’d love to hear all about it. Have a great lazy sunday, everyone!
