Snapchat Snapshot

Can I say good-wuff-evening or is that all too much right now? I’ll be honest, I am a full on snapchat fan. I love it. It entertains me. I get to watch blogger updates (almost) live. I get to send stupid snapshots to my friends and receive the most awkward snaps back. Obviously, and by no surprise, you can see that one of my favorite filters is the dog one. Why? I don’t quite know it myself – it might be the love for dogs I have. Either way, I’ve noticed the #basicbitch trend going around. What it means? Simple, it’s all those using the dog filter on snapchat, wearing caps, “werk”ing “werk”ing “werk”ing (hinting to Rihanna) and putting their hair up in braids (hinting to the Kardashians). Basically, I am missing the cap and the braids – that is to say, I should really get my hair done and find a cap to fulfill the cliché. No but seriously, when, why and how did I miss this cute filter turn into such a vibe? Anywhoo – if there is one thing I don’t support its those not supporting. Meaning; there is no way I will give up my snapchat dog filter anytime soon! It’s too cute.

Different story, same subject: Those of you that are following me on snappychatty (@stylephantom) these days, have noticed that I am currently in Luxembourg. I am here since Wednesay and staying until tomorrow afternoon – for business, of course. I haven’t been able to take much photos here nor did I have enormous amounts of freetime to blog in the past times – yet, I’ve been rather active on Snapchat these days when I had a minute or two running from meeting A to B and have been sharing some Lux-impressions with you. Go check it out! Still being stuck on this subject, what’s your favorite filter and which one is an absolute “no-go”? xo

May I introduce myself? I am such a fan of Rihanna – be it her style, her music, her outfits, her amazing accent or the personality (or of the one we can assume). Regardless of the music (I admit to having every song), I always have been inspired by her magical, continous change of style – it is breathtaking, so fresh! Now I am surely not the only fan and absolutely not the biggest fan out there (no posters, haha!) but knowing that there are so many out there, one can approximately calculate how many she inspires. Given the fact that she has ever so often now, almost revolutionised fashion, inspired designers over and over and oh, has become a designer, she is one to watch for new trends. Here it goes: her brows! Looking at the new cover from Bitch Better Have My Money, I would almost bet that we will be seeing some more of these straight, in your face, bold eyebrows on one or the other upcoming runway! What do you think of the brows – yay or nay? xo

Live. Love. Leopard.

It’s no secret I am in love with the color black, that I love pairing it with gold and it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that I absolutely love leopard prints – especially on fur. I am usually not the person that is much into prints, especially not those majorly colored ones. However, animal prints have had me hooked since forever. Be it snake, tiger, crocodile or leopard – though leopard, in my opinion, beats it all.

Leopard prints have been in style (if one can say so!) since forever. Leopard coats have been seen on almost all influencing women known, from Madonna to Kate Moss. Since the blog hype started a few years ago, it is a must-have item in every closet. Now not only do I love the print on coats (I am still looking for the perfect one, which I can semi-afford), but on almost everything: from shoes, over bags, to iPad/iPhone cases, on bracelets, to my beloved and most-wanted coat. Today I want to show you some of my favorite pieces, most of which are on my not-so-secret wishlist.

I am a shoe-lover. Be it flats, loafers, heels, wedges or ankle boots. Since autumn is coming up and my beloved loafers will be getting too cold and some of my boots are still too warm, ankle boots are the way to go. Leopard ankle boots are surely on my wishlist this upcoming fall. Paired with a black jeans (ofcourse), a black cashmere sweater and some gold rings, these boots are the perfect round-up to a simple outfit.

Another item on my top wishlist regarding leopard prints is the perfect fur coat. Perfect, of course, is different based on each individual definition. Personally, I would prefer the fur to be quite short – I’d rather not look like a teddy-bear on the streets. I do not mind it being faux, though also do not want it to look too fake, making it possible to tell from a 2 mile distance. Preferably, I would want a longer arm to it and I would rather have it going into a natural beige/brown color than a yellow tone. Complicated much? I think so!

I have been looking online a lot lately and here is my find to some similar ones: here, herehere and a more affordable one here. Have you seen any great ones?

Handbags are one of those accessories that have the power of changing a whole outfit. They can make an outfit become more elegant, more edgy, wilder, younger or more mature. A leopard handbag gives that certain edge to an outfit. Combine it with red nails and a red lipstick and you become super woman leaving the apartment (just don’t over dot it!). Although one could probably wear leopard from head to toe – I’m the last one to say no to a complete leo-look -, personally I prefer playing with one outfit item. A leopard handbag is like that special spice that tops off any meal.

A Hint of Barbie – My new Nike Air Max

0 Permalink

If you take a look at my closet, you will notice one color in particular: black. I am a huge fan of back – though I know it’s officially not defined being a color as such. Black works with everything and especially with every occasion. May it be for my work, my free time, friends time, for a nice dinner out, a spontaneous trip to a bar or laid back pic-nic at the park. The color black can be worn in a chic manner, a comfy-looking manner, modern, gothic (if one is a fan of it), punk, rogue, or conservative. Really, it fits all moods and places.

This summer I wanted new shoes. Not just any shoes, but I wanted sneakers. Most of you might have already seen the hype – the Nike-wave that flooded seemingly the whole fashion world. It took me into its stream as well and I couldn’t help it but want exactly that foot-wear as well. Originally, I had planned on getting the black Nike sneakers with the white sole and the white Nike sign. Taking one of my closest friends to the city, I made her try on shoes with me. Then, I saw the white Nike Air Max. First thought: Barbie! I had previously seen girls wear such bright sneakers with ⅞ lenght jeans (blue or black), combined with easy flowing tshirts, with jumpers, with blazers and even suits. Call it crazy, but as weird as it seemed to me at the time the more I couldn’t let go of the idea of combining such a girly and sporty look with classy-chic.

You can guess it from my photos. Yes, I vowed down to the fashion trend and decided on the hint of barbie: I had to have those pinky, girly Nike Air Max. It was one of the best sneaker decision I have made so far (not to forget my black Jeffrey Campbell sneakers with golden studs: I still love those black ones!). I especially love combining them with washed blue jeans and a blazer of choice. Be it in dark grey, pink, white or blue. They all fit. Speaking off, I am still looking for a white blazer. I know that at this point I should really share some of my outfit ideas in photos – so I promise to take some pictures next time I wear my lovely new favorites.
