U.S. National Banana Bread Day

Happy (U.S.) National Banana Bread Day guys! I seriously did not know that this day existed until, at the beginning of the year, I looked into what national food days there are to place some in my calendar – and I can assure you, there are numerous! But in all honesty, what better excuse does this day offer than baking a lovely banana cake and indulging in a piece or two for breakfast, combined with some fresh avocado spreading and – whilst we’re at the subject – a fresh banana (or any other fruit, really).

Since I am sucker for a good banana cake, I bake one at least once a month. It’s perfect for breakfast or for that afternoon tea or coffee for a snack on the side. Since I make these gluten- and lactose free, it is one of my favourite snacks I’m actually permitted to eat. I’ve previously shared my classic banana bread recipe here and also this delicious variation with chia seeds and berries here. What’s your favourite way to combine this tasteful piece of heaven?

With that, I wish you all a tasteful day! xo

Marble Details

I’m totally in love with my new laptop case! I’ve been thinking about getting one for quite a while now, although I usually prefer my gadgets in its original form and look. So to speak – I always found it nicer without anything on. Now that I’ve been on planes more often in the past weeks and always took my laptop with me, I found it was the right time to protect it accordingly. I don’t think I could handle a scratch on it!

Now it’s time to work a little whilst sipping on my tea. Yup, tea – with it still being about 30°C outside. I’ve been hit by a slight cold yesterday, didn’t feel too well this morning and am praying that it won’t worsen over night again. Crossing fingers!

I hope you all a great start into the new week – there’s so much going on! Thursday I’ll be flying to Germany again for a fun festival in Kaarst (near Düsseldorf, a town where my family currently lives), which is called Kaarst Total. I’ll be working from home Friday and returning Monday evening. Until then I have a lot of stuff to do – which is why I should work on my agenda for the week now; and for the new month whilst I’m at it… (didn’t manage it yesterday).

Lots of love, xo

Gift Ideas for Christmas

Happy evening everyone! Christmas is coming so super fast – like every year haha. Are you all in the Christmas mood already? I’m really not – maybe that’s just me being weird, but it’s been like this the past years. The weather is grey and rainy but nowhere near do we have snow (which would make it feel more like Christmas I guess). I am now with the family at home in Düsseldorf and we have a little Christmas decoration going on here. My mother will decorate more and put up the tree over the weekend when I’m in Amsterdam – so maybe that feeling will come Monday evening.

I’m still in need of a present for my sister and dad – will I ever manage on time without having to hurry haha? Probably not! But I do know what to buy now – I only need to find the stuff. I am hoping to find everything in Amsterdam on the weekend – otherwise I’ll really have to go for a last-minute shopping on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Wish me luck!

Here are some ideas if you are still looking for some presents all to do with interior. I can’t get over pretty interior design stuff – homes just become so much more inviting with the right details.
