Happy Tuesday! It is SO hot outside, you have no idea! Nevertheless, I am trying to soak in as much sun as possible – especially because I have the feeling winter is just around the corner. Seriously, it always goes so fast.

This morning I wanted to use the chance to share with you some of the pieces from Bread and Boxers that I was able to try and absolutely fell in love with. It is a Swedish company and uses the best cotton for the products – hence, the amazing soft feel fo the fabrics! And honestly – the packaging is just so cute! I wouldn’t be sharing this with you guys if I wasn’t really convinced of the comfiness.

I have been following them on Instagram a while now and just discovered their cooperation design with Sara Biderman. I’m really digging the loungewear pants and hoodie (find it here) and think I may be ordering those next! Forgive me, closet!

the cutest packaging

Speaking of my closet.. I really, really, really need to clear out my wardrobe again. It is seriously about to burst. I know for a fact that I have a few pieces in there that really need to go to into the bin – hoodies I love but have holes in them, super old shirts and pants I just have not worn in forever. So that is a goal I want to accomplish in the next few weeks! Also, I just bought some new stuff at Zara yesterday and so I surely need space haha :)

The Silence of Nature

Malta. The island isn’t all too big, all too large and rather easily explored – yet, there’s a new place every time I go for walks with my family. Right after New York, and after spending less than 36 hours in Zurich, I headed right back to Malta to see my puppy again. I left Zaphira with my mom and sister whilst I was gone traveling overseas so that she had family around her and wasn’t alone. Upon my return, I received a million kisses from my pup and couldn’t feel happier. It was just what I needed. Malta was just what I needed. In fact, I needed a short break. Traveling is a passion I love and I cannot be happier about the life I am living and about my career allowing me to travel to different places. Yet, once in a while I am just happy to let go for a bit; almost to shut down in order to reload my personal energy again. That is what I did over Easter together with my pup and the family. We were out daily, surrounded by winds, yet enjoying the warm sun that spring has brought to the island.

Generally, there is not much I love more than enjoying the silence of nature. That is, the sounds of breaking waves, the wind whistling through the sails of yachts and boats, the birds humming their songs and wings of bees vibrating so fast you can hear it for miles if you listen closely on an open field. I have learnt not only to love being outside in nature but appreciating all that it gives to us and does for us. My next personal challenge: the ultimate detox and enjoying nature to the fullest. That is, I want to plan a trip in the near future where I will be almost fully offline – cut off from the digital world.

I love the internet. Don’t get me wrong. I love being online and knowing what is happening exactly when it happens and the second a message gets in. Yet, being available at all times, receiving emails and calls 24/7, answering WhatsApp messages in bulks and FaceTiming every night with family and friends can make one feel restless. I’ve come to notice that a break from everything, at least once in a while, is quite the positive change. I now try going outside without checking my phone every 10 minutes – at least for those 2 hours that I am outside with my dog when going for a short hike. And my next challenge is a trip – a trip where I will restrict myself to only 2 short periods of online time a day (to let my family know I’m alive whilst abroad and to check important emails once a day).  I think it will be a real treat for myself. Have any of you gone through a digital detox – is it even possible nowadays in such a fast pacing world? I cannot wait for it!

Hello and happy Friday! I couldn’t be more happy to finish this week – not that I don’t love what I do, but I also love sleeping in and I really look forward to it this weekend. Yesterday evening I took a short break from “life” and went to the movies with a friend of mine – we watched “Now you can see me 2”. I didn’t see the first one, unfortunately, but the second one surely was good! Of what I heard though, the first one was a tad better. Well well, either way it was a nice change to my usual evening-studies. I also wanted to share a few more photos from Malta with you from last weekend. I really enjoy going to this little Island, spending time with my family and dog, and walking around the stone beaches and exploring some of the nature there. Diving is supposed to be super fun there, too – especially because they have a lot of ship wrecks. Sadly I didn’t find the time yet, as I am always super busy when I go to Malta (with studying, spending time with the family – whom don’t dive – getting my hair touched up, etc.). Next year I’ll surely do it!

Also, I finally went darker again. And nope, I don’t mean I tanned more – though I really wish – but I darkened my roots and am not as blonde anymore. I did love being blonde, and I most likely will go back to it at some point in my life. In recent times though, I’ve felt that my hair needs a break (I’ve been colouring it since I’m 16!) and wanted to go a bit more natural. That being said, my hairdresser used the “balayage” technique and darkened my roots and pulled some of the darker color down my hair. I really do like the change, though, it took me a few days to get used to it and I would swear that my hair actually isn’t that dark. Thus, it could be that my hair grows out lighter on the top *sigh* but I guess I’ll find out soon. Seriously, if there is no reason to really color your hair, don’t do it. Or at least beware that certain natural hair colours are not easily brought back or the hairdresser might have difficulties finding the perfect color match. Nevertheless, I really love my hairdresser in Malta – Sarah – she does an amazing job! If you’re ever looking for a hairdresser in Malta, let me know – and I’ll make sure to send you the details. I don’t have an “after” picture yet, but I’ll try to get one these days. You can definitely already see some though on instagram or snapchat!

That being said, I’ll now finish my lunch and continue with some office work. Enjoy the weekend! xo

Getaway 2.0, Malta

Hello and Goodbye! That seems to my motto on the regular these days. Of course I am not inviting and throwing people out of my life on a constant – not at all to be precise, but it seems to me I leave my home more regularly than usual during the year. I cannot complain though, of course – since seeing family (all living somewhere else) and going abroad for business is something I chose to do and love. I am currently writing this post whilst on the plane from Zurich to à Malta! I am spending the weekend with my beloved mom, sister and my baby (aka dog). My mom came to visit my dad and I in Zurich last weekend for a wedding we were invited to. Oh, it was beautiful – the details so thought out and the whole event so harmonious. My sister stayed in Malta last week and looked over the dog (we still need a dog-sitter there – anyone know one?) and so I am excited to seeing her again. My dad, who would have loved to being there, is currently on a three-week business trip. Yep, even my “smaller family circle” seems to be all over the world at the moment. Trying to get everyyyone together, is actually an impossible task.

We have a big round birthday coming up in December (my uncle is turning 50), where I thought we would all get together. But again, him and his wife live somewhere far off from the rest (even if still in Germany) and most likely not everyone will be able to join. Nevertheless, I will try to incorporate that into my plans very soon to see at least a part of the bigger family again. Speaking of birthdays – my dad will also be turning 50 years young this year (November). Does anyone know what to gift on a round birthday? I’ve always found it hard to find presents for the male counterparts on their birthdays, but round ones, they really stress me out. I’d love to hear any ideas you guys might have!

Now rewinding back to this weekend, my trip will be rather short. I will be leaving Malta again at around 1pm on Monday and really “only” spent the weekend. Weekend plans? Getting my hair done, spending time with the family, cuddling with my dog, working on studies and business – and – swimming with dolphins on Sunday! Yep, you read that right. I never swam with them before, but promised it as a present to my sister’s graduation earlier this year. I am not quite sure if I am excited about it or not – since they are kept in a pool rather than in the open water. I’m sure it will be fun though, so let’s see how it goes and cross your fingers they don’t bite, haha!

With that, I wish you all an amazing weekend to come. Oh, and happy September 1st! xo

Good morning! I am awake since 4.45am this morning and we are waiting for the truck. Of course, one disaster follows another. The truck wasn’t allowed out of the harbor because they made a mistake at the border control office. Fast forward 2 hours, I am now sitting here in a still empty apartment, but – with good news. I just got a call from my dad (whom went to the harbor at 5), that they are now allowed to continue. The truck should be arriving in 20-30 minutes from now and then we will start unloading. Unpacking is the theme for the next couple of days.

I thought I’d use this little mini-break though to update you and, provide you with some iPhone photos I was able to make last night. Since arriving here, we have been running errands constantly and in between I have been working on my laptop (business and studies – so much for vacation..). Now I am crossing fingers that everything goes well and that I can then enjoy the weather a little bit on the weekend. I brought so many nice, new bathing suits! It would be a shame to not use them. And of course, I want to use these few days to tan a little if possible.

The photos are from lasts nights dinner (horrific quality, I know), when we went to Surfside (a Restaurant here in Malta, right at the water). It has an absolutely breathtaking view and the food was amazing. At least, I can surely say that about my fresh salmon – and I can only recommend the place to anyone visiting Malta. The Restaurant has 3 floors to it, with a Shisha bar at the beach, a more lounge/bar area for enjoying just drinks and some great music (and from time to time supposedly big parties).

Now I need to jump – the truck is about to arrive! xo
