Isabella “blondinbella” Löwengrip in Zurich

Hey guys! On a short notice, I just wanted to give you all a heads-up and small hint on a bloggers-event that will be held at Scandinavia Hair tomorrow here in Zurich. Isabella Löwengrip is one of the biggest bloggers in Scandinavia, has a huge fanbase, and approximately 1.5 million (yep, read that right!) readers weekly. The event will concentrate on blog talks and the product line LLC.

It is definetely on my agenda tomorrow evening and I would love to see some of you join in! xo

Loods 5

Happy Sunday! Apologies for being so absent the past few days – it’s been busy as usual, if not even more. I drove down to Düsseldorf Friday morning to spend the weekend and my birthday (Tuesday) here with the family. Saturday we went to the city and did a little interior shopping, spent the evening on the couch and today we drove down to Holland. Seriously, I love the fact that they are open for shopping on Sundays. My mom and I have been looking at one shop that we’ve seen on several blogs already – one that has been described as breath-taking by many lifestyle and interior bloggers, one that we had to see in real life to judge ourselves. So today we drove down to Zaandam in the Netherlands to visit Loods 5. I am not kidding you when saying that it is an absolute must for interior and deco-lovers. Seriously. The shop was huge – I mean, gigantic! It’s the size of one of those large Ikeas, though the style completely different. Mostly interior decorations are there, though you can find everything from Scandinavian furniture to copper baskets over to the most stylish lamps, candles or wooden tablets.

I tried taking some pictures to give you an idea of what the store offers though I was more concentrated on the actual items than on my camera. I promise you, it will really be worth your trip if you go. We spent around 3,5 hours in the store, though probably could’ve spent even more time there. I did buy a few things here and there (decoration, obviously), which I will share with you soon. I could’ve taken a whole transporter with me and re-furnish my whole apartment. Three things stopped me: the boarder to Switzerland, the size of my car and my wallet. Speaking of wallet – I am in love with the chair on the second picture (below) – what do you think? Oh, I can’t wait to have my own first-bought place to style everything!

An Addiction to Shoes

1 Permalink

Diamonds are surely not a girls best friend, and shoes are not everything in life. But they surely can make me jump up and down from joy – oh, how I love buying new shoes. Oophs, I did it again (ha! Does that remind you of any song? Damnit, now it’s stuck in my head haha!). Honestly, I sometimes think I have this slight addiction to shoes. If feels like every cent that I save up someday suddenly is gone and a new pair of shoes or a new clothing item has replaced it, haha.

It’s also (once again, I know) no surprise that I love, but seriously absolutely, love black. I can’t even describe the emotions bonded to this color. It just fits: everyday, to every occasion, in every season, at any time of the day. So there is also no surprise that I chose black shoes! I actually ordered these lovely new pairs just a few days ago and was super surprised (and jumping of joy), when they already arrived yesterday at the office! Do any of you know that feeling when you just don’t expect a packet? I thought DHL was at the door, just handing me some documents. And then: BAM. It was my Nelly packet that arrived.

I love investing in clothes, especially in shoes, leather goods, handbags and coats. But then I saw these, saw that they were (super!) cheap compared to what I normally see that I actually fall in love with and was just mind-blown. And I did hesitate for a bit, I do admit it. But in the end I decided to go for it, just try it. In the end, if I don’t like them anymore next season or if they break or whatnot, I atleast won’t regret spending a fortune on them. Oh, and another major positive point: I got three pairs for the money I would normally spend easily on one pair. It’s a win-win-only situation!

What do you think? Invest or just go for the cheaper one from time to time? By the way: I am always on the outlook for new stores or websites to get some inspiration. Be it shoes, clothes in general or whatnot. Please let me know if you see something great!

Now I quickly need to pack together my bag and off I go to the office. It’s majorly pouring today (ugh!), but atleast that is a good excuse to wear my new shoes (#1)!

Interior Inspirations over Lunch

Hi everyone! I absolutely love my job – no doubt whatsoever – and I love the going out for lunches. I love my going-out lunches even more though, when I can get some great inspiration into it topped off with with a lovely talk with a friend over some great food. Is that too much to ask, haha? No, I think it is the perfect combination and one I cannot live without.

So today a friend showed me one of my favorite stores here in Zurich, that I actually know from Hamburg and Düsseldorf. “Herzlich Trend und House” in Seefeld (Zurich area) is one of those interior shops I could spend all my savings on. I love the white, Scandinavian design when it comes to furniture, the classic silver pieces when it comes to decorations and a great quote on the wall that makes you smile every time you read it.  What’s your personal style you would choose for your home? Does anyone know similar shops in Zurich? I love checking out new places for further inspiration and am always greatful for some insider tips!
