Hello loves! It’s officially summer – and I mean OFFICIALLY. It’s almost too hot (always complaining – can anyone relate?). Seriously though, you cannot leave the house for 5 minutes without breaking into a sweaty session – yea, not so nice. I really wouldn’t mind a bikini now, a beach or even a pool – I cannot wait for my next trip. I am currently planning on probably going to Spain latest in August again. Summer in Zurich is quite nice, as you have the lake to cool down and jump into. This week I am still in Düsseldorf, which is why (and I apologize), my updates have been lacking majorly. I’ve been in Norden (city) until Tuesday night, as we celebrated my grandpa’s birthday last Saturday – it was great, with live music (50s & 60s rock’n’roll), lots of friends and family and some great meat from the grill. These days I am more hanging around, enjoying the time with the family, getting lactose free ice creams in the afternoon, reading for uni and later today I might do some shopping (always a good choice!). And since I do not want to bore anyone, I’ll leave it with that and update you once I’ve got a little more to update on! xo
Good morning lovies and a happy Sunday! Did you all change the clock last night? Yes – it is officially summer time again and we can stay up one hour longer (or so I pretend)!
I am officially back home in cold, cold Zurich (so much for the summer time … ugh!). I arrived yesterday early afternoon and – as much as I love traveling and being abroad – I am so glad to be home again. Home means my bed, my pillows, my food, my cooking, my lazy Sunday. Yup, I am so glad to be home again, no matter how much I enjoyed the week off. And I really did – I loved it! We (my bestie and I) didn’t sleep in too much, as we went diving everyday except Wednesday and Friday, which always started at 8 am – too early! But it’s so much fun – I would’ve never imagined it to be so calming to dive. The weather really got me spoiled though – we had around 34°C daily and still 28°C at night – I lived in my bikini and the wetsuit when diving. It was magical!
Now that I am back in grey, rainy Zurich, I already miss Oman! Oh, how warm it was! It is freezing here and I’ve been wearing a sweater ever since I got home, trying to acclimatize myself to these temperatures. Sadly, the outlook for the upcoming week isn’t any better :-( .. rain, rain, rain! I am crossing fingers that it will be nicer next weekend for Easter! Have you gotten prepared everything already in regards to decorations? I will be working on my last decorations more or less today – DIY time it is!
The family is coming today (mom, dad, sis & dog) and I will have them all here for the next 10 days – so nice! We will be spending easter at my place this year – now that I’ve finally got the space – and so the decoration needs to be done! I need to plan and pre-organize most of it until tomorrow, Monday, night as I will be going for surgery on Tuesday – oh, I really don’t want to! They will cut open my right wrist and fix some stuff there as I keep on having problems with my tendons – worst part: I am right-handed! Goodbye using my right hand for the upcoming weeks it seems! I am crossing fingers however, that I will be able to semi-type, either well with left only or at least a little with the right (work is waiting, the blog needs updates and uni assignments will be due). Have any of you had surgery on your wrist before? Luckily I will be out in the evening and do not need to stay overnight. The surgery itself will only last an hour as well, but until I am fully awake again and everything is ready it will be evening. Ugh, I am seriously shitting myself! Wednesday I will go back to get it checked once more and then soon physiotherapy starts – joy!
Anyway, now that I finally have full on internet again I will be able to show you more of the pictures I took in Oman – so excited to share! For today I will be “only” sharing my photos, which some of you might have already seen on Instagram. – which is, by the way, one of my social media apps I try updating daily!
I shall now continue snuggling into my blanket, have my overnight oats I made last night (will share recipe soon!), finish some last easter decorations and inspire myself with recipes to cook for next week before the family comes later today. Wishing you a wonderful lazy and relaxed Sunday! xo
Two weekends ago I was in Hamburg and upon buying some necessities,
which are cheaper in Germany than Zurich, I couldn’t resist but buy a load full of magazines at the airport. I love diving into my perfect little bubble, which I call my world of magazines. I can spend ours flipping through the pages, looking at the pictures and then taking the next one. After I flipped through all of them, I start going to the first magazine to actually read some of the articles. I used to read so much more magazines, though nowadays barely do I have the time for it. I could, I guess, read before going to bed. Though most of the evening, after work, I love doing absolutely nothing – and I mean nothing. I can stare at a wall for 1 hour and relax, calm down and enjoy the quiet peaceful moment. Weird, I know.
These magazines are actually a perfect example of it, I have bought these two weeks ago and at most, I have gone through 3 of them fully. The good thing about it though, they last – so long! I used to read them all at once and then was annoyed for having to wait a whole month for the next ones to come out (for most magazines). Now it’s perfect – after about 4 weeks I have read most of them, or hopefully all, and can buy the next stack. The only one missing here is the Vogue – though – my mother has taken on a subscription on it, for me. Thank you!
Which is your favorite, must have and fully read-through magazine?
Good morning everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week so far and a wonderful sunday to end it! Sundays are my lazy days: literally, I do nothing really other than read my magazines, play around with some photography (I really need to practice my skills), cook, sometimes bake, and read. Today I will most likely do exactly that, paired with some tanning in the sun – the weather in Zurich is great currently – and catching up with some friends over the phone in Germany.
To start my lazy sunday I love having power breakfasts. Power, because I actually take time to make them, try to have them rich on vitamins and minerals and of course it should be yummy. Today I chose scrambled egg whites with red peppers added previously, some red peppers raw on the side and a large glass of my green juice. The juice was way too much, I made about one litre, so I will just sip on that during the day as well.
My bible for the day: the Vogue. It’s a cliché, I know. It’s always amazing to get some inspiration out of it and read the articles. Otherwise, I love reading my InStyle, Harpers Bazaar, and some other magazines I find during the week. This year my mother actually gave me the Vogue as a present. I get it every month for free now – yes, I’m a lucky girl. Here’s to say: Thank you Mama!
Do you also do lazy sundays or are they packed with activities? I’d love to hear all about it. Have a great lazy sunday, everyone!
