Happy FriYAY! Yep, the week has gone by already – once again! It’s been a really busy week so far – actually, I have the feeling it’s still the beginning. My weekend isn’t much different scheduling wise: I will be diving tomorrow and Sunday, need to get up early on both days, have to write some texts on tonight, Saturday and Sunday, have guests coming on Monday (so need to clean!) and will be going out a club this Saturday with one of my girls here in Zurich. As much as I’m looking forward to each and every part of the weekend (except for cleaning..), I doubt I’ll be getting any sleep – I surely won’t get to sleep in. I haven’t slept in for weeks now and I swear, it kills me. I love sleep – so being deprived from one of my favourite activities might make me a little moody from time to time.

Hopefully everything will go well with my last dive on Sunday – going into the lake tomorrow and Sunday (brrr…)! Upon completion of the course I can finally call myself a PADI Open Water Diver – looking forward to it! With that, of course, I am super excited for my holiday coming up now in March. Obviously, I have been searching the Internet for adequate outfits already – believe it or not, I am short on everything that has to do with hot temperatures. It only shows how little I have been at the beach in the past two years – so depressing!

Here are some of my current favourites from River Island, which I have been love-eyeing with. What do you think? With hot temperatures I always think of a nice tan, bikinis in floral prints and pastel colours (so fresh!), a large summer hat, some footwear and of course: sunglasses! I decided on buying one or two “cheaper” kinds, as I do not want my other sunnies to get ruined by the salt water and sand. I am now off to lunch with a friend and then I’ll be back at the desk – oh so fun!  xo

Strolling through Amsterdam

Hey everyone – I hope you had a wonderful first week after the New Year has started. It goes by so fast! I swear I say this on every post, but I cannot get over how fast time passes sometimes. My week started pretty calm with work, though I had a lot to work on that has build itself up over my vacation. Done with that, now the new things are strolling in already. Speaking of strolling: I just found more photos I took when my sister and I were strolling through Amsterdam. I cannot get over how pretty this city is – I really have to go again, once it’s warmer.

I especially love the little houses – they seem so squished in. It’s an art for itself and really, its super smart. During a boat’s tour I learned that the slimmer the houses in Amsterdam are, the less taxes you pay. That explains the amount of slim houses – it’s incredible if you think about it! Walking past a few breath-taking streets along the canals I noticed many offices of great, known firms. It makes sense if they pay less taxes, too! But I don’t want to bore anyone with taxes haha – so below find you can find some shots from our stroll through the city.

I’ll now get ready to meet one of my friends at her new place – love discovering new places, it’s always such great inspiration! I wish you all a cozy and great Saturday! xo

Goodbye 2014; Welcome 2015

Happy New Year everyone! It’s amazing how fast time passes – 2014 is officially over and 2015 has started. I love the saying ‘you’ve got an empty book of 365 pages ahead of you (well, 364 now) and it’s in your hands to write the story.’ If you think about it, it really is us – we are the ones writing our own books, creating paths we want to follow and living the life we want to. At least, that is what I try on a daily basis.

If I look back to the beginning of 2014, 12 months ago, it seems that the year has ended too fast. On the other hand, so much has happened and I have enjoyed almost all of it. Yes, there have been little ups and downs but really, it’s been a great year. I have moved from Hamburg to Zurich, went from an internship position to a full-time job, started StylePhantom, met some amazing people, people that I will surely keep in my heart forever, have travelled and seen different places. 2014 has been a good year for me and I am keen on making 2015 an even more prosperous, an even more exciting, and more fulfilling year than 2014 has been.

I have so many little plans for this upcoming year, so many larger, great ones too. I want to travel, I have picked out places already, I have personal projects, I have plans for changing my apartment a little and I am so excited to making all these things happen – to sharing them.

Then, of course, there is so much I do not know. I don’t know what exactly will happen in 2015, I don’t know who I’ll be meeting next, what other projects I’ll be starting and what projects I’ll be finishing. I have no clue for so many things and the great thing is, I am so happy to be in the unknown sometimes. I love waking up and planning ahead of time and then having to throw over all my plans for something else. I love discovering each day by the day, each hour by the hour!

I am absolutely looking forward to this year and I surely will be writing my own little book – excited to fill in the next 364 days. And, obviously – wishing you the most prosperous year with the most breath-taking moments. xo

A Hint of Barbie – My new Nike Air Max

0 Permalink

If you take a look at my closet, you will notice one color in particular: black. I am a huge fan of back – though I know it’s officially not defined being a color as such. Black works with everything and especially with every occasion. May it be for my work, my free time, friends time, for a nice dinner out, a spontaneous trip to a bar or laid back pic-nic at the park. The color black can be worn in a chic manner, a comfy-looking manner, modern, gothic (if one is a fan of it), punk, rogue, or conservative. Really, it fits all moods and places.

This summer I wanted new shoes. Not just any shoes, but I wanted sneakers. Most of you might have already seen the hype – the Nike-wave that flooded seemingly the whole fashion world. It took me into its stream as well and I couldn’t help it but want exactly that foot-wear as well. Originally, I had planned on getting the black Nike sneakers with the white sole and the white Nike sign. Taking one of my closest friends to the city, I made her try on shoes with me. Then, I saw the white Nike Air Max. First thought: Barbie! I had previously seen girls wear such bright sneakers with ⅞ lenght jeans (blue or black), combined with easy flowing tshirts, with jumpers, with blazers and even suits. Call it crazy, but as weird as it seemed to me at the time the more I couldn’t let go of the idea of combining such a girly and sporty look with classy-chic.

You can guess it from my photos. Yes, I vowed down to the fashion trend and decided on the hint of barbie: I had to have those pinky, girly Nike Air Max. It was one of the best sneaker decision I have made so far (not to forget my black Jeffrey Campbell sneakers with golden studs: I still love those black ones!). I especially love combining them with washed blue jeans and a blazer of choice. Be it in dark grey, pink, white or blue. They all fit. Speaking off, I am still looking for a white blazer. I know that at this point I should really share some of my outfit ideas in photos – so I promise to take some pictures next time I wear my lovely new favorites.
