Good morning, afternoon or evening :)! Whilst Zaphira loves to stay on the couch on cold winter days, I on the other hand try to use my free time to continue packing everything up. Because: Big News: I am finally moving! Everything is set and almost ready to go and the big moving day is finally coming around the corner (end of February). I found myself a cute little apartment a little further outside of Zurich (still close enough though) with a small garden perfect for long summer nights outside – and – of course for Zaphira. Thus, I apologise that I have not had the chance to update you here all too regular the past few weeks and I promised myself to getting back into the routine once everything is settled in. Of course, I also plan to share some of my journey with you!
Although I still have a few nights until the move, I also have some travels coming up before. Therefore I will need to pack everything up by the end of this week ready for the move once I am back in town! Can’t wait to show you more :)!
I did it! I finally cut my hair a little more than usual – and it only took me two years of self-convincing. Not all too bad.
In all seriousness though, I always have to smile at how attached most of us women are to our hair. Cutting it from long (under boob length) to over the shoulder already seems like a huge step. And it was. Surprisingly, I felt quite at ease when walking out of the hairdresser. I guess that I have been planning this for so long, that now I was almost certain of exactly how it would look and no surprises came up. That is, you do have to trust the hairdresser – of course. Funnily enough, although a lot of people have asked me, I did nothing but cut my hair. The whole hairdresser visit took me around 45 minutes; including washing and hair drying it. I think that is the shortest time it ever took me. People have asked whether I have coloured my hair again – and although the light falls differently on the photos, there is no change in hair-color as such. Honestly,I have had some slight moments of doubt though, in the past days (I got it cut on the weekend). I either feel it is too short to do anything with it, or perhaps a little to long. I might need to thus wait a few weeks for it to grow just a tad more, or simply cut off another 5cm. I am very much leaning towards the second option. In addition: Is it just me or do I look more mature now? Surely feel like it, though!
What’s next? The week has started rather busy – then went a little quiet and is now fully blown packed again. Speaking of packed, I need to pack my little suitcase once more this tonight. Tomorrow afternoon I am off to Malta to see the family until Monday evening. I have decided to take a long weekend off – really need to catch up on some sleep and find a bit more me-time to work on my new projects. Speaking of – I most likely already told you that I have handed in my master thesis. Now is the time to relax and do nothing – you think? Of course not!I have already started something new that is utmost exciting to me, is done out of complete personal interest and is all about .. health! I will be telling you more on my next post. Lastly, there is another big, big, big thing happening mid next week and I am dying of excitement. It is something I have been wanting for all too long and now the time has finally arrived. Of course I will be showing you all about it – so stay tuned. If you cannot wait to seeing the news here, be sure to follow me on my other social media accounts! xo
Another day of meetings has passed, the electricity shut down on us today for almost an hour in the city of Zurich, the internet was dead for hours afterwards at the office, I handed in my assignment and it’s almost time to go to bed – finally! I remembered that I wanted to share a few more photos from NYC when I went back in March – and still have not done so. In looking through the photos I really miss it – it was such an amazing trip (yes, business mostly – but I had the chance to get a little of that ‘NYC lifestyle feeling’ on the weekend). Will I go again? For sure! Yet, I have not planned anything and am slightly doubting I’ll find the time this year. It’s only the end of April, I know, but I have been booking fights for every month up until November this year. It’s usually small trips, several short weekend trips, some business trips, and I will be booking a combined business-vacation trip for October soon, too. I am so excited it’s beyond words – and of course, I have to use this chance to tease you a little! Once it’s all booked and final (hopefully by the end of next month), I’ll make sure to update you though.
Now I quickly need to pack my stuff for the upcoming days: Düsseldorf and Norden (city up in the north of Germany). I’ll be flying tomorrow after work, meet the family, enjoying a girls-day with my mom and sister on Friday, and then we (including dad) will drive up to Norden on Saturday morning to meet the rest of the gang (aka the family). My grandma is turning 70, so almost the whole family is getting together, joined by some of her friends and neighbors and we will be going out for dinner and ‘partying’ afterwards. I haven’t seen them (all bundled up together) in quite a while, so I am surely looking forward to seeing them! Especially my little cousin, whom turned yesterday 3 (already!!). She is the most adorable kid and so incredibly mature for her age (she acts like she’s 6, at least!). With that, I should jump of social media, pack my stuff and jump straight into bed. xo
ps. make sure to add me on snapchat if you want to see more of my daily life (ranging from exquisite to double-chin-like selfies, daily impressions and of course little take-outs of my activities – and travels coming up)! @stylephantom
Today’s been a really busy day – I was at the office the whole day, had my dinner, need to pack still for leaving to Germany tomorrow, and finish off my Wednesdays’ essay until midnight. Fingers crossed that it’ll turn out well! But let’s talk about my love:
My love for avocado – when it comes to food – is indescribable. I’m back into my lovely routine, were I eat ½ an avocado either every morning or evening. This time I put some avocado on rice crips (cracker?), added a slice of ham (chicken) and added a strawberry – which is usually my breakfast. Since breakfast is my fav’ meal of the day, I love having it for dinner again. Really wouldn’t mind it for lunch either, and snacks while we’re at it. Can I just have a breakfast for every meal of the day – pretty please? As I couldn’t resist to have another breakfast, I had it again for dinner – this time with a side salad topped off with some fresh berries.
And as previously mentioned – I am still busy for the rest of the night with typing up the essay and packing for tomorrow. Hence – I’ll need to concentrate on those things again. I’ll surely try updating over the weekend – planning on taking some pictures in Germany and sharing these with you on the go! Till then, I wish you a great continuing week! xo
Good morning folks! I am now on my way to Düsseldorf to spend time with the family over the festive holidays. I spent all night packing, as usual worrying that I’d forget something majorly important. I always forget something haha! I still have a cold and because it’s also winter the packing always becomes more than in summer, when all you want to take is bikinis.
However with the right packing technique I can fit more than I always expected. I managed to fit 7 pair of pants/jeans and 12 tops, together with the appropriate underwear, shoes, jewelry and whatnot. When having to pack for these long trips it’s always best to roll-up all clothes. This way you can fit more and avoid any unnecessary wrinkles. So: roll, roll, roll that….! Haha… And of course I took all my needed technology with me to keep you up to date. So excited to be leaving to Amsterdam on Saturday!
