Good morning! Today is another fully scheduled day with meetings, a lunch, and another afternoon of the conference (I thought it was yesterday but no, it’s today! ugh.) The change of plans – or better say: me not knowing better – kind of swirled my agenda around a bit. I ended up working a bit longer yesterday to not stress too much today. Though I still do need to get quite a bit done!
Also, my parents came to Zurich again last week Thursday! Now I get to spend my lunches not only with Zaphira, but also have Elli (my mom’s Italian Greyhound) visiting me everyday. Even though both pups love each other, they are also equally jealous and always start crying super loud when they see each other. Especially Elli really has some loud squeaking going on haha!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful start into 2017! We have exactly 361 days left this year, to make it our greatest – what’s the plan? I’m out and about a lot this year and will try to tick off all my goals within the next months. First and far most, however, I need to write (well, start) and finish my master thesis. Joy. New Year’s Eve was amazing by the way – we had a house party at my bfs place with another 14-15 people. We had some great food, bubbly wine and a whole lot of fun. Luckily, I had Monday off and was able to get my energy back – ready for the new year at work. Yesterday started rather calm at the office. I organised quite a bit and tried to read through all the emails that piled up over the last few days. Today is seems, is the real start. I’ll be out for a business lunch and am jumping right back into a few large projects that were slightly on hold due to holidays.
I also wanted to share these photos with you my sister took of me in Malta two weeks ago. It’s incredible how warm it was there compared to the weather here. It’s freezing now, a bit snowy and it seems we are still far away from spring. These photos were taken at the Dingli Cliffs. Wherever you looked, you saw nature’s beauty. The cliffs are breathtaking. Yet, what really struck me, were these cute little stone houses (?), which were quite frankly fully falling apart. I am not sure what it was, but I assume they used to be some sort of shelters for farmers when the weather turned bad all of the sudden? Either way, the fact that they were so tiny and, quite frankly, broken down – yet had No Entry & Private written all over – made them especially cute. I had to take a few photos there. It’s a great contrast to the rather fresh velvet trend that everyone is going on about. Well, same here. I love love love velvet. Here, I am wearing my velvet pants from Zara (a few years old), a velvet body also from Zara (this season), and my adidas originals (which are so dirty they must be thrown out, soon). The sunnies are from Dior. What are your thoughts on velvet – keep or throw for 2017?
Hello loves! I hope you all spent a wonderful Christmas with family, friends and or loved ones. We had a super chilled Christmas this year and even got some take-home sushi in the evening to not have to stress about cooking. It was amazing. We unpacked presents, all watching each other unpack and laughed a lot. Yesterday was rather relaxed, too. We went out for a lunch in the sun and I stayed home mostly after. It seems I am having an allergic reaction to my antibiotics – as my face and hands are burning and got a sunburn with barely any exposure to the sun. So annoying – especially as I usually love to warship the sun as soon as it comes out! So now I’ll give the doctor a call as soon as they are open this morning and see what they have to say. Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to stay in the shade and inside for a couple of days..
Either way, I thought I’d share this little outfit post with you guys. I don’t do a lot of OOTDs, as I barely ever find time for them next to work and studying. Arriving in Malta and doing absolutely nothing work- or study related for 2-3 days gave me the chance to take a couple of photos, though. So I’ll be able to share a few more of these with you soon! What are your thoughts on these? Like? Special thanks here to my photographer, aka my sister. I forgot to bring my camera to Malta (how?!), but thankfully the iPhone quality has quite picked up and makes better quality photos than I thought!
I am basically wearing a complete Zara outfit. The camel coat, velvet body, and jeans skirt are from this season (perhaps still in store). The velvet ballerinas are from the beginning of summer, also Zara. I am also wearing my beloved, everyday Gucci bag and Dior sunnies – along with my Hermes bracelet and my (inherited) rings that I wear on the daily. I am especially in love with this coat – it seems to fit to everything. I know it’s been a trend-piece this whole year already and I am rather late with it in my collection, but I am so glad I bought it! Sadly it’s too cold in Zurich to wear at the moment, but at least I get the chance here in Malta – and then again in spring (whenever that arrives..).
Tonight we’re going to meet some friends and have dinner at their place. Should be lovely – I haven’t seen them since quite a few weeks now and it’s always most enjoyable to catch up!
I am back from Düsseldorf and seeing the family – and already miss them (especially my baby, aka dog)! I have quite a few photos to look through from graduation, though wanted to share one with you already. Here you see my grandpa, grandma (shortly after tears of joy), my beautiful sister (congratulations, again!), my stunning mom, and myself. My dad sadly isn’t on the photo, as he was standing behind the camera. Though, I should have a few photos together with all of us. I love family photos – they caption so many memories and are super fun to look at in later years. Sadly, the whole family doesn’t get together all too often (other than my parents and myself), so I always try and capture some of the moments. The graduation was on Friday, and Saturday we had my aunt, uncle and the three kids over and went out for another dinner. Speaking of dinner, we had the most amazing dinner with a breath-taking view on Friday – we went to the “Rheinturm,” which is the highest tower (218m) and offers a view over the whole city. We were also really lucky with the weather, as it was supposed to be rainy and quite cold. Luckily, it turned out to be quite warm – thankfully, as I only brought summery clothes.
Now I am back in Zurich for the week, catching up on work and preparing for the next weeks ahead. On Sunday I leave to Geneva again for business, returning Monday evening, and leaving to Malta Tuesday. As you might remember from an earlier post, my family is moving from Düsseldorf to Malta, so I will be flying over to catch some sun hours and help with the unpacking. I’ll stay in Malta one week, and then on July 6, early in the morning, I’ll fly to London to stay for business until Friday afternoon. Things should calm down once I am back in Zurich and my agenda seems less full – so I am crossing my fingers that the summer finally arrives in Zurich until then; it’s been dreadful the past weeks! If you’ve been following me on snapchat (@stylephantom) you saw that I was quite active on it over the past weekend – and I am planning to keep it up as I travel: it’s such an easy way to share special moments with friends and family (and lets not forget the utmost joy these filters bring)! xo
Happy Monday! I haven’t posted the whole weekend and I am so sorry! I was stuck in quite the studying mood – if you remember from earlier posts of last year, I am doing my PADI Open Water Divers license and it’s starting right this upcoming Friday! How exciting! It’s been dragged for quite a few months so I honestly haven’t looked at the material in the meantime. I’m a little nervous though – I guess I always am a tiny tinsy bit when it comes to writing tests. In the end I would say I already know everything as far as what the book has given me information wise (except for one or two definitions I need to still remember), but you never know, right? So I will be repeating the chapters this week before taking the test on Friday. And then, when hopefully all has gone well, I will jump into the pool on Saturday and Sunday for my first practice lessons. Normally I wouldn’t stress at all over these things, as in the end, you can always re-take tests and no one is going to die. But I literally cannot fail! I booked my March vacation already and it’s all about having some girls-time with my best friend and diving on a daily. But enough of that now..
How amazing is this leather jacket, please? I cannot get over it, I got it on sale in January and have fully fallen in love with it! I love leather jackets in general, they just seem to work with everything. And black, well, is black – you just can’t go wrong with that color. It’s not that I don’t already own one, I admit, but the style is surely different – this one really brings across the biker-feeling that I oh-so-love! I can’t wait for spring when I can finally wear it. Sadly, the winter is still full-on here in Zurich. I woke up with -4°C this morning and the streets were white again. Though, the temperatures are supposed to rise towards the end of the week and I am looking forward to not having to wear layers and layers of clothes anymore to keeping myself from dying of the cold.
The week is well packed again but I will stay in Zurich the whole time, which makes working on my other projects much easier. Speaking off, I need to sit myself down again to continue work. Have a great week everyone! xo
