I’m totally in love with my new laptop case! I’ve been thinking about getting one for quite a while now, although I usually prefer my gadgets in its original form and look. So to speak – I always found it nicer without anything on. Now that I’ve been on planes more often in the past weeks and always took my laptop with me, I found it was the right time to protect it accordingly. I don’t think I could handle a scratch on it!

Now it’s time to work a little whilst sipping on my tea. Yup, tea – with it still being about 30°C outside. I’ve been hit by a slight cold yesterday, didn’t feel too well this morning and am praying that it won’t worsen over night again. Crossing fingers!

I hope you all a great start into the new week – there’s so much going on! Thursday I’ll be flying to Germany again for a fun festival in Kaarst (near Düsseldorf, a town where my family currently lives), which is called Kaarst Total. I’ll be working from home Friday and returning Monday evening. Until then I have a lot of stuff to do – which is why I should work on my agenda for the week now; and for the new month whilst I’m at it… (didn’t manage it yesterday).

Lots of love, xo

Welcome to the Family

I love technology – could one have guessed? Obviously. This new MacBook Air is now officially part of my Apple family – I cannot get over how pretty and how light it is. I love having a laptop again. I gave my “old” MacBook Pro to my sister almost a year ago, thinking I don’t really need one anymore. How wrong was I? Fair enough, I only started getting active with my blog around one year ago again and I do have all other necessities to blog at home (iPad, iMac, etc..). Now that I have officially started studying again (yup!), all whilst working, I really needed a laptop again. It is just so much easier when traveling, and of course, it was the perfect excuse to buy a laptop for being able to blog when on the go. I took ages to decide whether to go for the Air or the Pro, but in the end, I like having things light. I tend to carry around way too much stuff with me already, and who needs a drive nowadays anyway, when everything is done via USB or SD cards. :-)

I’m actually still in Düsseldorf – practically, I can work from anywhere if I have a laptop (finally do again!) and Internet. I wanted to leave yesterday already but the 7 hour drive was just too much after having driven already 7 hours here on Friday. I decided to stay a day longer and enjoy the family time a bit more (when not answering emails or calls) and will leave tomorrow morning back to Zurich. I could stay here much longer if I could – my mom cooks amazingly, I have a bed, I can (kind of) sleep in because I can work from home and don’t need to rush to the office. However, I do have meetings coming up Wednesday onwards and will be back in Geneva on Friday – no time for taking time off. Then again, I’m flying into vacation next week Friday already! I am SO excited :-)! My best friend and I booked a hotel in Oman (here it is, I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer!) and we will be diving twice a day for 5 days straight. It will be amazing – and I cannot wait for the summery temperatures. Finally I can wear a bikini again! Have any of you been to Oman before – any must-see places I need to visit? We will have a day or two in Muscat (city) so we will be exploring the culture as much as possible in those hours.

Now that I’ve taken my little lunch break – off I go continuing my work. xo

Creating my creative space

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend so far – and a great week, of course! I’m still not a 100% fit and stayed home most of the weekend to get healthy faster. When I’m home that much I normally get completely cracked. I can’t just sit there and wait and hope to be fit again by monday. Instead, I looked at my workroom, which I like to call my creative space, and noticed it is far from inspiring me. When I moved in everything just got kinda placed there, you know? Especially my bookshelfs really annoyed me. They were so messy, all books basically just thrown in without any order. I do however like it when things are in order, or semi-order. In fact, I love my books sorted by color. Don’t get me wrong though, my bedroom can easily become a chaos – luckily, a chaos I always have a good overview of.

So this weekend was dedicated to cleaning up my apartment, moving my furniture around and making it a little prettier. I wanted that this-is-home-feeling. I also moved around the sofa in the living room and gave that room a whole new perspective. I think I quite like it though I will test it for a few days now. I flipped one of the bookshelfs over and noticed that I can fit almost all my books in one bookshelf. Ok, I do have some others which were stored somewhere else. I used the other bookshelf to display my photography-books, my fashion books and most importantly: my magazines. Not all, but the most important ones are all sorted by date. I still have quite a bit of reading regarding those – I actually still haven’t had the chance to look into some of the September ones. Now the October ones are covering the rest already.

So I thought I’d share some of that with you. Next I am going to sink into my sofa and start learning a bit. Yep, I though I had left that one behind with Uni. Obviously you never stop learning as such, but studying has really become an effort after one year not doing it haha. I’ve always wanted to dive, so finally I have taken the chance and bought a course:  I am now learning all the theory parts of becoming an Open Water Diver. How cool is that? Coral reefs – here I come!

My World of Magazines

1 Permalink

Two weekends ago I was in Hamburg and upon buying some necessities, which are cheaper in Germany than Zurich, I couldn’t resist but buy a load full of magazines at the airport. I love diving into my perfect little bubble, which I call my world of magazines. I can spend ours flipping through the pages, looking at the pictures and then taking the next one. After I flipped through all of them, I start going to the first magazine to actually read some of the articles. I used to read so much more magazines, though nowadays barely do I have the time for it. I could, I guess, read before going to bed. Though  most of the evening, after work, I love doing absolutely nothing – and I mean nothing. I can stare at a wall for 1 hour and relax, calm down and enjoy the quiet peaceful moment. Weird, I know.

These magazines are actually a perfect example of it, I have bought these two weeks ago and at most, I have gone through 3 of them fully. The good thing about it though, they last – so long! I used to read them all at once and then was annoyed for having to wait a whole month for the next ones to come out (for most magazines). Now it’s perfect – after about 4 weeks I have read most of them, or hopefully all, and can buy the next stack. The only one missing here is the Vogue – though – my mother has taken on a subscription on it, for me. Thank you!

Which is your favorite, must have and fully read-through magazine?
