Finally back in Switzerland, Zurich, and finally back home. As much as I love traveling, there is no feeling that can beat coming home. Yet, I love traveling, exploring, seeking adventures and discovering what nature has to offer for us. It doesn’t matter how often I jump on a plane, I still cannot get enough of the breathtaking views one gets when flying over the alps leaving Switzerland, flying over the ocean or desert when flying into other exotic places. I just finished my business travels to Las Vegas (with a pit stop in San Francisco) last week, and then jumped on another plane the next day to fly out to Alicante. There, I met my grandmother, relaxed a little bit over the weekend and enjoyed the beach.

With so many bloggers nowadays using special drones to take bird-view photos, I obviously needed one, too. It’s a toy, I admit it – but I love it. I really don’t need it, given that this does not finance my life, but it is so much fun to not only explore nature whilst walking around or diving in the sea, but suddenly being able to see what usually only birds see daily. This perspective opens a whole other layer of creativity one can work with and, personally, makes me respect the nature around us just so much more.

The DJI Mavic Pro not only allows you take photos of the views you see on your iPhone, but likewise let’s you shoot videos. I personally love it, though do admit that it needs some practice on my side. I almost completely crashed and destroyed it on my first flight – jup, only happens to me – but managed to fix it and thankfully did not destroy the camera. I’m slowly getting better, though hope to improve my skills further in the upcoming weeks. What are your thoughts, experiences with drones (if any) and favorites? Also, can anyone recommend a good program or app to work on the video – one that is not overly-technical and complicated? xo

ps. I have had some great news come at me the past days, which I am hoping to reconfirm and then share with you guys in the upcoming 2-3 months. Can’t wait to tell you more!

Taco Night & my week ahead

0 Permalink

Finally, it was time for taco night! You guys have no clue how much I’ve been craving to eat some these past weeks. With all the traveling, being busy, going out for dinners and lunches almost daily, though – I’ve just not had the time to make these little pieces of deliciousness until this past weekend. Let me tell you, I fully indulged in these and do not regret a single thing. If you’re interested, I am happy to share the recipe with you – just drop me a line or PM.

My weekend in general was one I cannot complain about at all. I’ve taken time off completely – no studying, no writing, no nothing (except for some obvious house cleaning). The weather has been great – almost too hot (always need to complain, I know:). I’ve been at the lake, even in the lake (rare one for me), went for some longer rides with my bike, had friends nights, date nights, went for dinners, saw my closest friends, tanned (or at least tried to), and enjoyed my favorite wines (yep, can’t do without a glass here and there).

Now that the Monday has found it’s way into our lives again, or at least mine, it’s time to start planning again for the week. I’m off to London tomorrow – staying until Wednesday evening. It’s a packed trip with meetings all day long. I might have some free time tomorrow; and am hoping to spend that with my parents (landed in London this morning from Miami). Wednesday we fly back to Zurich together, get to spend a little time together on Thursday, and Friday I am off to Liechtenstein for the day (meetings). Basically, my week is rather crowded again. Yet, it’s just the way I like it: busy, not too stressful though, surely not boring. The upcoming weeks will mean a lot of traveling, again. Especially June, I will be off to Las Vegas (for a few days; business), followed by a short trip to Spain (seeing my granny). And after that I’ve got some personal stuff going on. Then, June is already over. Time flies. It really does. Let’s see how I can keep up with everything – I’ll try to take you with me! xo

Malta x Moving

Good morning! I am awake since 4.45am this morning and we are waiting for the truck. Of course, one disaster follows another. The truck wasn’t allowed out of the harbor because they made a mistake at the border control office. Fast forward 2 hours, I am now sitting here in a still empty apartment, but – with good news. I just got a call from my dad (whom went to the harbor at 5), that they are now allowed to continue. The truck should be arriving in 20-30 minutes from now and then we will start unloading. Unpacking is the theme for the next couple of days.

I thought I’d use this little mini-break though to update you and, provide you with some iPhone photos I was able to make last night. Since arriving here, we have been running errands constantly and in between I have been working on my laptop (business and studies – so much for vacation..). Now I am crossing fingers that everything goes well and that I can then enjoy the weather a little bit on the weekend. I brought so many nice, new bathing suits! It would be a shame to not use them. And of course, I want to use these few days to tan a little if possible.

The photos are from lasts nights dinner (horrific quality, I know), when we went to Surfside (a Restaurant here in Malta, right at the water). It has an absolutely breathtaking view and the food was amazing. At least, I can surely say that about my fresh salmon – and I can only recommend the place to anyone visiting Malta. The Restaurant has 3 floors to it, with a Shisha bar at the beach, a more lounge/bar area for enjoying just drinks and some great music (and from time to time supposedly big parties).

Now I need to jump – the truck is about to arrive! xo

Graduation x Family

0 Permalink

I am back from Düsseldorf and seeing the family – and already miss them (especially my baby, aka dog)! I have quite a few photos to look through from graduation, though wanted to share one with you already. Here you see my grandpa, grandma (shortly after tears of joy), my beautiful sister (congratulations, again!), my stunning mom, and myself. My dad sadly isn’t on the photo, as he was standing behind the camera. Though, I should have a few photos together with all of us. I love family photos – they caption so many memories and are super fun to look at in later years. Sadly, the whole family doesn’t get together all too often (other than my parents and myself), so I always try and capture some of the moments. The graduation was on Friday, and Saturday we had my aunt, uncle and the three kids over and went out for another dinner. Speaking of dinner, we had the most amazing dinner with a breath-taking view on Friday – we went to the “Rheinturm,” which is the highest tower (218m) and offers a view over the whole city. We were also really lucky with the weather, as it was supposed to be rainy and quite cold. Luckily, it turned out to be quite warm – thankfully, as I only brought summery clothes.

Now I am back in Zurich for the week, catching up on work and preparing for the next weeks ahead. On Sunday I leave to Geneva again for business, returning Monday evening, and leaving to Malta Tuesday. As you might remember from an earlier post, my family is moving from Düsseldorf to Malta, so I will be flying over to catch some sun hours and help with the unpacking. I’ll stay in Malta one week, and then on July 6, early in the morning, I’ll fly to London to stay for business until Friday afternoon. Things should calm down once I am back in Zurich and my agenda seems less full – so I am crossing my fingers that the summer finally arrives in Zurich until then; it’s been dreadful the past weeks! If you’ve been following me on snapchat (@stylephantom) you saw that I was quite active on it over the past weekend – and I am planning to keep it up as I travel: it’s such an easy way to share special moments with friends and family (and lets not forget the utmost joy these filters bring)! xo

Kylie’s Lip Kit

0 Permalink

Saturday already! I really wanted to post earlier this week, but – surprise, surprise – was caught up with business and studying once again. At the end of last week I finally received the lip kits from Kyle Cosmetics. I have always been wondering how these products are – if it’s really good quality as always talked about or rather a hype because, well, it’s Kylie after all. It all started rather dramatically, however, when I went to the post office in full agony to receive the package. I knew it had to be the Kylie packet – after all, it was the only thing I had ordered from the States that time around and was the only one I understood why I had extra customs costs (thank you, Switzerland – not!). Best part of the story, though, is that they lost the package. They couldn’t find it and left me standing without anything to take home that night, though promising me that they would search and call me later that day. Already purchasing these products was harder than ever imagined. All products seem to be sold-out constantly. Kyle oftentimes announces a re-stock, but I usually only see it the next day (due to the time differences). So annoying! Until, one night late after studying, I saw that she had just made a new annoucement – and, I was lucky! I was able to purchase all three matte liquid lipstick & lip liner kits I so desperately wanted to try myself: Dolce K, Candy K, and Koko K.

Those of you that know me personally and those that follow my snapchat, know that I love both Candy K and Koko K! Both are ridiciously good at covering up, are a perfect matte, stay on for hours, do not dry out your lips and are perfect nudes to combine with almost every outfit. I still haven’t had a chance to wear the Dolce K in public, as it is quite a bit darker and rather for the evening (in my opinion). Speaking of evening, I might get the chance to wear it tonight, when I am hopefully going out for dinner (and if not, I will order something, for sure!).

The past days, as I’ve mentioned, have been rather busy. Next week isn’t any quieter. I will be traveling to Geneva on Monday through to Wednesday for business, and will be flying to Germany (Düsseldorf) on Thursday. There I will be with the family until Sunday night. Friday my sis has her high school graduation and we are planning on a lovely dinner high up in the sky! Can you guess where? I’ll try to take pictures, even if it is dark, though surely you can follow all happenings on snapchat. Until then, however, and very important as well: the EM has started! Although I am not the greatest soccer fan on a daily, and I do not watch every match and every league, I am beyond excited to (hopefully) see Germany play and succeed in the following weeks. Tomorrow’s first game is against Ukraine. Cross fingers! Though, of course, I will be fair and agree that the better shall win!

With that, I wish you lovely continuing Saturday! Stay tuned on snapchat to receive daily updates. xo
