Kylie’s Lip Kit

0 Permalink

Saturday already! I really wanted to post earlier this week, but – surprise, surprise – was caught up with business and studying once again. At the end of last week I finally received the lip kits from Kyle Cosmetics. I have always been wondering how these products are – if it’s really good quality as always talked about or rather a hype because, well, it’s Kylie after all. It all started rather dramatically, however, when I went to the post office in full agony to receive the package. I knew it had to be the Kylie packet – after all, it was the only thing I had ordered from the States that time around and was the only one I understood why I had extra customs costs (thank you, Switzerland – not!). Best part of the story, though, is that they lost the package. They couldn’t find it and left me standing without anything to take home that night, though promising me that they would search and call me later that day. Already purchasing these products was harder than ever imagined. All products seem to be sold-out constantly. Kyle oftentimes announces a re-stock, but I usually only see it the next day (due to the time differences). So annoying! Until, one night late after studying, I saw that she had just made a new annoucement – and, I was lucky! I was able to purchase all three matte liquid lipstick & lip liner kits I so desperately wanted to try myself: Dolce K, Candy K, and Koko K.

Those of you that know me personally and those that follow my snapchat, know that I love both Candy K and Koko K! Both are ridiciously good at covering up, are a perfect matte, stay on for hours, do not dry out your lips and are perfect nudes to combine with almost every outfit. I still haven’t had a chance to wear the Dolce K in public, as it is quite a bit darker and rather for the evening (in my opinion). Speaking of evening, I might get the chance to wear it tonight, when I am hopefully going out for dinner (and if not, I will order something, for sure!).

The past days, as I’ve mentioned, have been rather busy. Next week isn’t any quieter. I will be traveling to Geneva on Monday through to Wednesday for business, and will be flying to Germany (Düsseldorf) on Thursday. There I will be with the family until Sunday night. Friday my sis has her high school graduation and we are planning on a lovely dinner high up in the sky! Can you guess where? I’ll try to take pictures, even if it is dark, though surely you can follow all happenings on snapchat. Until then, however, and very important as well: the EM has started! Although I am not the greatest soccer fan on a daily, and I do not watch every match and every league, I am beyond excited to (hopefully) see Germany play and succeed in the following weeks. Tomorrow’s first game is against Ukraine. Cross fingers! Though, of course, I will be fair and agree that the better shall win!

With that, I wish you lovely continuing Saturday! Stay tuned on snapchat to receive daily updates. xo

Muesli Mornings

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Work is seriously picking up in speed now and the days are passing by faster than ever. Can you believe it’s almost Christmas in 3 months? With these faster days I need my breakfast ready in an instant, so it’s either prepared for the morning or takes me less than 5 minutes to make. I’ve always been a huge muesli lover when I was a child. I’d have oatmeal-chocolate muesli daily during school days – or nutella breads on the other days. With my intolerances towards gluten and lactose this has worn off in the past years and I’ve only occassionally eaten some glutenfree mueslis that I saw in stores.

Now I finally made my very first own muesli. A bit crunchy, yet it soaks up the milk perfectly. It filled up a big jar in the kitchen for me to take out a cup in the morning, add some lactose free milk or yoghurt and fruit to it. It’s perfect for when I don’t have much time – or I take it to the office in a small mason jar, where I keep some lactose free milk too. I’ve tried it with almond milk as well, though must admit it’s too sweet even for my taste in the mornings now. So here’s to the recipe:

What you need

1 cup buckwheat flakes
1 ½ cups popped amaranth
1 cup coconut flakes
¼ cup rice flakes
½ cup sunflower seeds
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ cup peanut oil (or any other vegetable oil)
4 tablespoons agave syrup (or more if you want it sweeter)

What to do

1) heat up the oven to 180°C
2) mix everything thoroughly in a large bowl – make sure that the oil and agave syrup are spread well
3) spread everything in a large lasagne dish / or any other large oven form you have at hand
4) bake for 20-25 min, mixing the muesli 3-4 times to enable everything to get a nice gold/brown color
5) take it out and let it cool-off (it well get slightly crunchier when cooled off fully)

Now you can

1) add some milk to the muesli (and fruit) – serve it
2) serve it with yoghurt and fresh fruit (also amazing with berries)
3) put everything in a large jar for daily usage
4) fill small mason jars and make home-made kitchen gifts out of it – who doesn’t love themselves a nice jar of muesli?

With that, I wish you some great morning breakfasts (or snacks) to come. xo

Good morning! It’s been so long – but I’m still alive! Last week has been so busy, you know when you suddenly get swamped with work? Yep, that was me last week, swimming in little circles. But it was crazy good, I’d rather be busy full-on than bored with nothing to do. Except for the end of the week – I managed to sprain my tailbone after I fell quite hideously down some stairs. Haha, it had to happen to me one day!

Friday I went out for an amazing dinner – I was out with a friend who had shown me a steak-restaurant in Zurich. I’m such a meat-lover it’s crazy! So for anyone that loves steaks I can only recommend the Churrasco in Zurich. I had an Entrecôte and I still can’t get over the amazing taste.

Saturday I spent my day window-shopping, going to Ikea and some other shops. I’ve been looking for lamps now for ages – I still have lightbulbs hanging all over my apartment but it’s hopeless to find a hanging lamp I like that is somewhat affordable. I just don’t see why I should spend so much money on a nice lamp. I’ve been thinking about making one myself? I love copper lamps, or playing with copper shades or even something with wood. Anyone got any good ideas or a DIY website for hanging lamps? Let’s see what I’ll be doing next with that haha.
However – I did find some great new glasses for drinking. They fit perfectly with my red wine glasses I got earlier this year. I’ll have to show them to you later this week! I also got small other stuff to cook with – my kitchen seems full already but I always find something great that could help me make pretty food haha.

Yesterday I haven’t been lazy for once – although I did have a lazy sunday evening. My dad stayed over this weekend so we decided to go to Säntis – a mountain about 1 hour drive from Zurich. It was breathtaking. Really, there are no words to describe the beauty of nature sometimes. I still haven’t gotten over the beautiful view. Isn’t it somehow possible to take it with you? I would do anything to wake up to such a view in the morning! One of my future dreams is to have a small little house or apartment in the alps to go there in the winter times and just enjoy the view on a daily basis from time to time. Or I’ll have to rent one out – crossing fingers!

The tiny tinsy house up on on that mountain is where the weather-man used to live the whole year round. It’s insane, as much as I love the view and as much as I would wish to have that view, I would never be able to live up there. Imagine! Back then they had no lift to go up and down within 15 minutes, they actually had to hike up all those 2500+ meters. There is no supermarket around the corner and no neighbor to talk to. Alone the thought is crazy!

I actually took even more photos, also from down where the parking was. The trees were beautiful, full of heavy snow, almost leaning under the heavy weight. I only went a few meters off the pathway and was already stuck in the snow up to my knees. But I do admit, getting back home to a nice hot cup of tea did make me quite happy too. No matter how much I love the snow and the beautiful landscape, I couldn’t live without summer!

Now that I’ve written quite a bit, I quickly need to hurry and leave the apartment to start on time at the office. This week is already quite full in regards to meetings and evening-plans so I’m really looking forward to it. I wish you all a great Monday! xo

This little house used to be, were the man living up here would write down and record the weather conditions. Today this is done with huge computers and it is the largest weather-station in all of Switzerland!
