Last Minute Gifts for Him

Surely cannot post about last minute gifts for her (see last post), without giving some ideas for him, right?

Well, without any further due, here is a list of ideas what you can gift to your significant other, father, brother, best friend, uncle, etc.
My two absolute favorites are most likely the whiskey glas set and the espresso glas cups – a cute present and something stylish for the home. And who doesn’t love a sneaker cleaning kit?

  1. water bottle, keeping your drinks cold for up to 24h, warm for up to 12h; find it here
  2. Coffee machine from Nespresso; find it here
  3. Kiehl’s Man Facial Fuel; find it here
  4. Sneaker cleaning kit; find it here
  5. Cigar cutter & ashtray; find it here

Oh, how I love coming home. When flying into Switzerland and seeing the beautiful alps – it’s when I get all excited to being home soon again. Buh, I also love London. Especially this time of the year – when all the Christmas decorations are up and lighting up the city streets – it couldn’t get more beautiful. Tonight the Christmas lights will be put on here in Zurich; and I am so excited. It gives a feeling of warmth and love, despite the the freezing cold temperatures that are taking on the country. I will be meeting up with a few friends at Bellevue (in Zurich) to take a first sip of the hot wine (Glühwein in German) as the Christmas Markets open. I’m surely changing into some warmer clothes before it though! For lunch I am meeting a girl that I met at an event a couple of months ago (remember this?) – so excited! It’s such a great feeling to meet people more or less my age, outside of work for once, and talking about all things girly, beauty and fashion. Really looking forward to it! Tonight I’ll probably go for dinner again, as my fridge is screaming empty and there is no point in buying anything now. Why you ask? I am taking off tomorrow once more: Friday evening to Monday afternoon I’ll be in Malta. My dad is turning 50 (!) so we have a few family members flying into Malta where they have their home and will be celebrating on Sunday with a great dinner on Saturday. And yes, I am surely looking forward to the somewhat warmer temperatures before heading back here next week. What are your weekend plans? xo

Hi peeps – weekend already! Thankfully Saturday. I woke up this morning and could have sworn it is Sunday – and it makes me even happier konwing that I have another day off tomorrow and can sleep in. The week was super busy again, and going to Geneva for Thursday-Friday didn’t help with trying to get back into my routine (and off the jetlag). Yet it was super fun. I went over for work, attended a big networking event dinner (you semi-see my outfit on my last instagram photo) and then had meetings the next morning. Coming back to Zurich I was able to nap a little on the train, which was desperately needed as I went met up for drinks in the evening with friends. So much for resting. Today looked similar, I got home at around 1pm (stayed over last night), had lunch with my dad whom is spending the weekend here, went grocery shopping and finished an assignment for uni. Now I thought I’d give you a little update before I jump up again and get ready for dinner tonight. Cannot wait!

The only negative thing about being back home, really, is the weather. It has become so cold! Nevermind those lovely evening dinners and drinks with only a shirt and shorts on. It all about thick jackets and wearing a scarf already. Looking at these pictures almost wants me to turn around and fly back right to Cayman. These photos are of a little island just at Camana Bay. Visiting our office, this pretty place was only a 60 second walk away from it and I couldn’t help myself but go there once or twice after lunch to enjoy the view. It is really tiny. A touristy thing, but so pretty. Imagine being stuck in the office the whole day and within a couple of meters you can walk over a small bridge and stand on this cute little island and feel like you are on vacation. Right – not that anyone would do that actually living there; happy to escape the heat in air-conditioned rooms at the office. I surely would. At least that’s what I would like to believe.

Now this weekend everyone is going to Halloween parties. I totally missed it this year – or will be missing it. I had the chance to go to a big party with reservation but already cancelled a couple of weeks ago. I wanted some time to rest after all those travels. Quite frankly, I am happy I did. I get to enjoy some quality time and go out with great people. Seeing Kylie Jenners Halloweeen-Party on snapchat today, though, made me question this whole thing again. Yes, I liked it. No, actually, I loved it. I want it. So right now my plan for next year is an awesome Halloween party. Let’s see what actually happens in a year but the thought is quite heart-warming – or better, bitter sweet.

Who would have thought that such a little island, in the middle of “nowhere”, can offer oh-so-much! I landed in Grand Cayman Monday evening and fell in love with it ever since. I am lucky enough to have come here thanks to my work. The main reason for me was to meet the team (we have an office here) and then I also tried to arrange some meetings. I can seriously say – and am proud in doing so – that I have the sweetest, most welcoming, and heartwarming colleagues one could ask for. One of them has been picking me up every morning, brought me back to the hotel every evening, and the week went by way too fast. I am lucky enough to waking up every morning and loving what I do. Not once did I drag myself to work in the past years thinking this is not what I enjoy (although I might be a bit cranky if I don’t sleep enough haha). The team has taken me out to lunch every day, took me out to dinners and drinks daily (alright, I really need to watch my diet again now..) and not once did I spend an evening alone at the hotel. Another colleague actually came over from the States to visit (and in liking to pretend it was for me), I now know most people I work with on the regular (previously via email and the likes).

Whilst the week has been filled with work and started usually at 4.30 in the morning (jetlag joys!) and ended rather early (10pm), I have taken off Monday & Tuesday to enjoy the island a little more. One of my colleagues (if you read this, another big THANK YOU) shares my passion for diving and has been organizing this weekend for me. Whilst living here means one can go dive every weekend (or day..), it was on the top of my to-do list as I rarely find time. Today was finally the day and we started nice and early at 8.30 to go for two dives. Both were from a boat – one dive being a little deeper (around 30m), and one in more shallow waters (maybe 15-20m). Tomorrow I want to explore a little more so I am crossing all fingers that the weather plays with us. It’s hurricane season here and although the beginning of the week was perfect, we’ve had quite a bit of rainfall the past days. We were lucky with the weather today as it stayed dry most of the day and only just started pouring in the late evening. What I did learn however, it might pour majorly in one area, and a 10 min drive away, the sun is out.

Here are some of my first impressions of the hotel and my first sunrise walk (I try to go to the beach daily if possible in mornings). The colors of the ocean are insane – the most beautiful blue and turquoise shades possible! Now I beg you all to cross fingers for me for the upcoming days regarding the weather. Wednesday I’m off to Miami (also business – though off on Saturday) and the days are passing faster than I would have hoped. Over and over again, I thank life for what opportunities are given to me – especially when being able to travel around so much. Yet, as much as I love what I do and am able to experience, I am already looking forward to going home and spending some quality time with my loved ones (and sleeping in my own bed!).

Hello and happy Friday! I couldn’t be more happy to finish this week – not that I don’t love what I do, but I also love sleeping in and I really look forward to it this weekend. Yesterday evening I took a short break from “life” and went to the movies with a friend of mine – we watched “Now you can see me 2”. I didn’t see the first one, unfortunately, but the second one surely was good! Of what I heard though, the first one was a tad better. Well well, either way it was a nice change to my usual evening-studies. I also wanted to share a few more photos from Malta with you from last weekend. I really enjoy going to this little Island, spending time with my family and dog, and walking around the stone beaches and exploring some of the nature there. Diving is supposed to be super fun there, too – especially because they have a lot of ship wrecks. Sadly I didn’t find the time yet, as I am always super busy when I go to Malta (with studying, spending time with the family – whom don’t dive – getting my hair touched up, etc.). Next year I’ll surely do it!

Also, I finally went darker again. And nope, I don’t mean I tanned more – though I really wish – but I darkened my roots and am not as blonde anymore. I did love being blonde, and I most likely will go back to it at some point in my life. In recent times though, I’ve felt that my hair needs a break (I’ve been colouring it since I’m 16!) and wanted to go a bit more natural. That being said, my hairdresser used the “balayage” technique and darkened my roots and pulled some of the darker color down my hair. I really do like the change, though, it took me a few days to get used to it and I would swear that my hair actually isn’t that dark. Thus, it could be that my hair grows out lighter on the top *sigh* but I guess I’ll find out soon. Seriously, if there is no reason to really color your hair, don’t do it. Or at least beware that certain natural hair colours are not easily brought back or the hairdresser might have difficulties finding the perfect color match. Nevertheless, I really love my hairdresser in Malta – Sarah – she does an amazing job! If you’re ever looking for a hairdresser in Malta, let me know – and I’ll make sure to send you the details. I don’t have an “after” picture yet, but I’ll try to get one these days. You can definitely already see some though on instagram or snapchat!

That being said, I’ll now finish my lunch and continue with some office work. Enjoy the weekend! xo
