Planning 2016

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely start into 2016 and will continue to rock it! My NYE was amazingly peaceful, at home on the couch with a special someone and I for once did not have to worry about pleasing anyone with food recipes, cocktails, outfits or partying. It enabled me to start the new year on a quiet note and gave me the opportunity to actually be productive within the first days of January. This is rather rare as the past years have been a little more hectic, involved parties or definelty much longer nights and as most of you probably, it meant I was dead the next day.

The first weekend of the new year started with me trying to figure out my agenda for 2016. Yes, that is for the full year. Obviously I have not finished it all, but I have a quite good understanding of where I need to be at what times (speaking of family celebrations and round birthdays coming up). Some of my business trips are already sorted out and I think at the end of this month I will have an even better understanding of any larger upcoming trips. This enables me to plan my private time more, as with studies still going on this year and all other things, friends and loved ones can easily fall behind if I don’t plan well. Luckily, I am a huge lover of planning and also spontaneous when the timing matches.

As you might remember I mentioned wanting to plan ahead a bit more in regards to the blog. I’ve done exactly that. No, I have not planned every post for this upcoming year (is that even possible?), but I have already picked out important dates for certain categories and will try and bring a little more structure into it. With all these little dates and plans, I really only hope that I actually manage it all. I tend to trying to be a perfectionist and often get moody if I don’t achieve everything. There goes another resolution: I need to let things flow, take them as they come and not panic if I don’t manage something perfectly in time (given that I have the possibility to be flexible). Next up I want to try and set some dates for vacations this year – I really want to travel more! Any suggestions of what’s a must-see this year?

Whilst trying to plan my 2016, one of my Christmas presents I received from my parents came in perfect timing. I received a new Mont Blanc (Meisterstück), which I must admit – is a heaven to write with. It flows so easily over the paper that it almost becomes fun. In general, I find that writing by hand relaxing from time to time and see that most people do it less and less. I have sworn myself to write Holiday and Birthday cards to all special people in my life – and have done it the past years. Who doesn’t love receiving a card on their special day, or a sweet postcard on a random note? I always get excited when opening the mail and not receiving a bill for once in a while.

With that, I’ll turn to continuing my structuring of 2016 today. I have quite a busy day ahead in the office and need to get quite a bit done before I get my tonsils taken out tomorrow morning. Wohoo – isn’t that exciting! I really wish I had done it earlier and would be done and over with it now. Lessen learnt, I’ll have them removed when I’m younger in my next life! With that, I wish you a wonderful rest of the week. xo

Good morning loves! It’s saturday and finally weekend – the perfect day to sleep in and start that spa routine. Sadly, I fell out of bed again at 8 straight. Seeing the positive side, I’ve been pretty productive already, starting my paper for my studies and reading myself further into the subject. My lazy days are usually Sundays, which will be same this weekend. Today is packed with a meeting at noon and over lunch (exciting news to share soon, hopefully!), finishing up my project, working on some photography, and maybe going out tonight. Though honestly, I don’t mind a quiet weekend this time, so I might stay in tonight with a hot cup of tea and further working on some of my personal projects. I started a to-do list for those projects yesterday and let me tell you – it keeps growing by the hour. I have so many things planned for the future and it really takes some time-management skills to get personal, private projects, studies, full-time job and friends & family under one umbrella. But hey, keeping up the positive mood is the first step to everything. With that, I wish you a great start into the weekend – remember to smile. xo

Happy Monday! As you might remember, my schedule is still super full until Wednesday night. Ok, actually the whole week – but it I am officially on uni-holiday from Thursday on. Cannot wait. :) However, I wanted to quickly jump-on in and say hi to all of you. I’ve had a delicious lunch today (as per the above photo) with one of my old friends that I’ve known for quite a few years. I love catching up with him, and although our lives continue and we do shoot into different directions here and there, it is always great to see what they are up to. I surely loved it. We went to Paddy Reilly’s in Zürich and I absolutely love their King-Prawn salad, it’s a must-try for all those that love seafood in combination with a salad (typical summer).

Coming home, I found a wonderful surprise waiting for me in the mailbox. I got a postcard from my bestie, who decided to just write how much she loves me – aww :’). And I have so much love for her! I love opening my mailbox and not receiving any invoices or mail that can immediately go into my trash. It’s these little things in life that one should appreciate – so many people come and go in our lives it’s incredible. But I’ve learnt that some of them are meant to be in your life and I won’t let go anytime soon (ever, really!).

Now I’ll continue with my final essay due Wednesday and hopefully find the right words for that introduction and conclusion paragraph that are still outstanding. Is it just me, or is that always the hardest part? Anyways – I hope you’ve all had a great start into the week and wishing you a lovely night. xo

Friday x Vacation

FriYay! Finally! This week has been filled with ups and downs like no other – I finally got my cast off on Tuesday and can finally use my wrist a little bit more. But (there’s always a but), it’s still quite stiff and I’ve got quite a bit of physiotherapy in front of me in the next weeks. The weather on the other side, has been brilliant this week – of course – only to get worse now that the weekend is approaching :'( .. It seems I have to swell in memory from my last vacation in Oman (Sifawy Hotel); ah, how much I miss the beach already!

However: surprise, surprise, surprise to me! My dad booked our next family holiday and I am SO excited! We will be flying to Cyprus for one week in October and it’s all about relaxing, relaxing and relaxing (and I will be scuba diving a bit as well)! It is a little while to go, but summer is just around the corner, which (should) normally mean great weather – especially at the lake here in Zurich. And, if I’m really lucky, there might be another vacation coming it’s way in summer – crossing fingers!

Now that I’ve been dwelling enough in day dreams, it’s time to quickly get some breakfast and then quickly jump to work. Unluckily, the weather really isn’t all too gloomy. Thankfully it’s Friday for that reason – and I wish you all a great day. xo

Good morning lovies and a happy Sunday! Did you all change the clock last night? Yes – it is officially summer time again and we can stay up one hour longer (or so I pretend)!

I am officially back home in cold, cold Zurich (so much for the summer time … ugh!). I arrived yesterday early afternoon and – as much as I love traveling and being abroad – I am so glad to be home again. Home means my bed, my pillows, my food, my cooking, my lazy Sunday. Yup, I am so glad to be home again, no matter how much I enjoyed the week off. And I really did – I loved it! We (my bestie and I) didn’t sleep in too much, as we went diving everyday except Wednesday and Friday, which always started at 8 am – too early! But it’s so much fun – I would’ve never imagined it to be so calming to dive. The weather really got me spoiled though – we had around 34°C daily and still 28°C at night – I lived in my bikini and the wetsuit when diving. It was magical!

Now that I am back in grey, rainy Zurich, I already miss Oman! Oh, how warm it was! It is freezing here and I’ve been wearing a sweater ever since I got home, trying to acclimatize myself to these temperatures. Sadly, the outlook for the upcoming week isn’t any better :-( .. rain, rain, rain! I am crossing fingers that it will be nicer next weekend for Easter! Have you gotten prepared everything already in regards to decorations? I will be working on my last decorations more or less today – DIY time it is!

The family is coming today (mom, dad, sis & dog) and I will have them all here for the next 10 days  – so nice! We will be spending easter at my place this year – now that I’ve finally got the space – and so the decoration needs to be done! I need to plan and pre-organize most of it until tomorrow, Monday, night as I will be going for surgery on Tuesday – oh, I really don’t want to! They will cut open my right wrist and fix some stuff there as I keep on having problems with my tendons – worst part: I am right-handed! Goodbye using my right hand for the upcoming weeks it seems! I am crossing fingers however, that I will be able to semi-type, either well with left only or at least a little with the right (work is waiting, the blog needs updates and uni assignments will be due). Have any of you had surgery on your wrist before? Luckily I will be out in the evening and do not need to stay overnight. The surgery itself will only last an hour as well, but until I am fully awake again and everything is ready it will be evening. Ugh, I am seriously shitting myself! Wednesday I will go back to get it checked once more and then soon physiotherapy starts – joy!

Anyway, now that I finally have full on internet again I will be able to show you more of the pictures I took in Oman – so excited to share! For today I will be “only” sharing my photos, which some of you might have already seen on Instagram. – which is, by the way, one of my social media apps I try updating daily!

I shall now continue snuggling into my blanket, have my overnight oats I made last night (will share recipe soon!), finish some last easter decorations and inspire myself with recipes to cook for next week before the family comes later today. Wishing you a wonderful lazy and relaxed Sunday! xo
