Verbier

I am soo sorry I’ve been gone so long. Did I ever tell you I’m more than busy right now? I’ve probably said this all too often already. I do admit to having taken a bit time off, of everything, too. Especially last weekend. My bf took me to Verbier, where we spent the whole weekend with some friends and their families. It was lovely. It was a lot of jacuzzi sessions, a lot of food, and especially a lot of partying. Who would have known that such a small town in the alps has so much to offer. I absolutely fell in love with the place – it really was a small vacation away from the city and it almost felt like we were out of Switzerland. Perhaps that was the French language that I am not too good with. Either way, I thought I’d give you a small update that all is still running and alive. Especially if you follow me on Snapchat (laura.nanette) or Instagram (laurananette) you will have seen most of partying and food sessions – and the  jacuzzi, of course. Though the weekend was fabulous and one that will stay within my memories for quite a while, my body is aching with pain now. I caught a serious flu once again and should be staying in bed right now. That, of course, is not an option. There is too much going on, too much planning right now and too many travelling plans coming up in the next weeks. Again this Friday I will be boarding – this time to Hamburg. One of my best friends is turning 30 – and there is no way on earth I would miss out on this birthday! Next week should be better, I took the whole week off (though will most likely attend a few business calls) to work on my studies. I promise to update you more regularly in the future. However, feel free to add me on the other social media platforms if you want more live updates! Busy days are coming ;) xo

Happy Sunday! Another week has gone by and it went waaay too fast! I am currently in Hamburg though thought I would update you with a short post. I’ve been seeing my uncle and his girlfriend, my great-grandmother (whom is already 96!), and some of my closest friends. Tomorrow will be my last day and I will stroll around the city and meet up with a friend to catch up a bit. In the evening it will be time to say good-bye and until next time, Hamburg. As much as I love traveling – and, of course seeing my dearest ones – I love coming home as well. The week will be tough though. My studies start again as of Wednesday, I have several meetings and tasks to finish off at work, we have the streetparade coming up on Saturday in Zurich (big, big party!), and I am starting a personal project on Sunday for the upcoming weeks.

I also painted last week quite a bit and shared a few previews on snapchat already. I am always super unsure about my own art – do I like it, or not? Is it something I should share or rather keep in private? What are your thoughts – would you be interested?

The picture, by the way, is of a dinner I made last week before I flew off to Hamburg. I haven’t cooked in forever – as I am almost always out for lunch or dinner and barely ever home. That is about to change, though, as I am planning to slow down on the eating-out a bit over the next weeks. That is, until October – because then I will be on travels almost the whole month through. Super excited about the trips, though. So you’ll definitely be seeing more about those soon! xo

Dionysus Blooms Love

0 Permalink

I can finally call this beauty mine! I’ve been looking to invest into a new bag for quite some time these pasts months and it took me almost forever to decide – and I could not have made a better decision. I’ve been thinking about getting a Chanel for really long – but the fact that everyone (and I mean, everyone – here in Zurich) has it, didn’t make it all too special anymore. It’s still on my wish-list – of course – but that will be another time. I fell in love with the Dionsyus designs by Gucci from the day they came out: and I had to have one. I’ve been thinking long about which one of these to get and almost got the simple one with black suede leather inbetween. In the end, it probably fits better with most outfits. I had both on in the store and it took forever for me to decide. Lastly, I chose the Blooms version and decided – for once in my life – to go for some color. The print is amazing. I am a firm believer that it can be worn with almost everything (considering my wardrobe isn’t all too colorful anyway) and surely can add some warm blossom-feelings in winter. Lastly, it’s a bag I don’t see all too often on the street. Quite frankly, I have not seen one thus far here in my inner circles. Yay!

I’m wearing this bag 24/7 at the moment, though did put it aside on the weekend when the parties seemed a little “too crazy” and I was scared it would be ruined first thing.  I am debating whether I should take it with me tomorrow – as I will be flying to: Hamburg! Finally going back to my fav German city to visit some family and friends. Most likely, this piece of love (ahem, the bag) will join me. This week has been rather calm actually – finally – as I took off a few days to really sleep in and get some other projects going. For those of you following me on snapchat, you already saw that I started painting again. There is seriously nothing more relaxing than sitting down and painting for a couple of hours. The last strokes were finished-up this morning. Once its dry and ready for hang-up, I will take a second look at it (whether I actually like it haha) and might just share it with you on the blog. I am deciding whether to start a second one today – completely different direction, though might need to move this project to another time. Next week Monday I return to Zurich only to jump back into my hectic lifestyle (aka uni and work). Till then, I will try to make the best of my free-time. xo

Leather Trousers

Hello loves! Time flies right now again – and at the same time, it doesn’t seem to move a bit. Have any of you ever felt this way? As you might know I got my tonsils removed 10 days ago. It’s already been 10 days, but then again only 10 days. I started bleeding again on Monday so I had to go back to hospital for two nights. I am still far from being fully recovered but it surely is going better now. Yesterday I finally left the house to go a little shopping now that all is on sale. It didn’t last all too long though, as I am still quite weak I noticed. Anyhow – no one likes reading complaints :)

I wanted to share a few photos with you of my favorite black leather trousers. They are the most comfortable pants ever, and still have that certain cool-factor to them due to the faux leather fabric and the sweatpants-look. I ordered them already a while ago at minimum – a danish company. They have similar ones actually on sale now, here! The long-sleeved shirt is from Zara and the sneakers are from Nike. The outfit is one of my favorites when I have that certain laid-back mood – and it almost reminds me of the Yeezus style. Pretty sure that Kayne would have approved as well.

Oh, and I did finally cut my hair. It doesn’t seem to be a lot to many and I doubt everyone notices the change but I did actually cut a full on 12cm. Like seriously, 12cm. Yes, I find it quite brave myself. I am still not a hundred percent familiar with the lenght and want to try out some new styles with it. I’ll try playing around with it as I am surely stuck with the length for a couple more weeks now. And quite frankly, I actually like having that extra hint of volume when waking up. What do you think of this messy, semi-wavy look? xo

St Paul’s Cathedral

Hi loves! I still have quite a few London shots, which I remember promising to show you. Funnily enough, I just landed in Hamburg about 2 hours ago – so in a different city once again. I love Hamburg. Having lived here through my bachelor studies I know the city all too well, though, I still manage to discover something new every time. I came to visit some family as well as friends – it’s so great being finally able to catch up again face-to-face and not over the phone.

I did not bring my camera to Hamburg this time – and I regret it already. However, you can always follow me on Instagram or snapchat to get in between updates (you’ll find me as laurananette on insta and stylephantom on snapchat). Nevertheless, I will make sure to capture anything on my iPhone if needed. Otherwise this will be a pretty relaxed and laid back weekend I hope. It’s of course always a little hectic seeing everyone, but at the same time I didn’t pressure myself into any strict calendar appointments. Sunday I’ll be flying back around noon so that I still have half the day to relax and maybe even get a short nap in – I feel so old saying this.

Back to London for now. My hotel was right across from the St Paul’s Cathedral – it’s already breathtaking when you look at it at day. The cathedral is a huge piece of art in regards to its architecture and style. At night, it similarly breath-taking with lights shining upon it. It looks even more massive with the contrast and play of shadows and streams of light coming through!
