Guaca Everywhere

You might have noticed that I love using avocado whenever I have the possibility. Be it as a substitute for butter, smashed on a piece of toast or simply in form of a good guacamole – you cannot go wrong with avocado. Imagine one would be allergic – is that even possible? I think it would be my nightmare come true. Either way; as you might remember I had a dinner with a few girls at my place a couple of weeks ago (before I started my travels). Speaking of travels – it feels so good being back at home with the loved ones!

For one of the starters I had made these eggs filled with guacamole. Simple, tasty, quick in the making – and super cute! For 8 halves you (obviously) need 4 eggs, round about one medium sized avocado, some salt, pepper, lemon juice, hot paprika pulver and perhaps a little onion. Once you have boiled the eggs and let them cool off, carefully cut them in half and take out the egg yolk. Add the yolk with the mashed avocado, add a little pepper, salt, the juice of half a lemon, and if you like, a small onion (cut into small pieces). Mash up the whole thing and add whatever ingredient you feel is needed to making it taste as good as you can. Carefully fill the egg-white halves and sprinkle a little paprika pulver on top – eh voila; off you go and present it to your guests.

I love making this little treat as a snack on the side or even as a topper for a good green salad. Nevertheless, don’t underestimate the power of an egg-avocado guacamole – it is SO filling. My friends and I snacked on these together with the homemade sweet potatoe and pumpkin/hokkaido chips (recipe here) and were basically full. Going over to the main meal was already a heavy task given we were so full – and we actually never made it to the dessert (which got eaten a day later). I’ll present the two courses to you shortly, too – and will also post a couple more footage from my trip.

Today and tomorrow is mostly office and admin work. There is so much to catch up on and so many emails to go through. Thursday I’ll be leaving to Geneva for a night, enjoying a lovely (business) dinner event and going to some meetings. I love these kinds of dinners – they have them every couple of weeks in different cities – and they are absolutely great for networking within the industry. I may have time to write another post on the train so do stay tuned!

Friday

Friday night it is! I’ve decided for a super cozy evening on my couch, had a great dinner previously and am now surfing the web whilst watching CNN on the side – I couldn’t ask for more! The week has gone by fast, obviously – we had Monday off. Now here it comes: I have the upcoming Monday off again! How cool is that? It’s a public holiday in Zurich (not in all of Switzerland), so I can relax and enjoy the (finally) great spring weather. It was beautiful today – around 20°C and it was absolutely amazing to walk around in a t-shirt.

The only thing that seems to be missing is THIS pool we had at the Sifawy Hotel in Oman, and well, maybe the beach! I cannot wait for the next holiday to come up! I am planning my next trip with the family, so let’s see when and where that will be (either late summer or autumn). However, it will surely involve some beach and hot bikini weather – so exciting!

Now I’ll continue listening to potential future scenarios in Cuba (all on CNN), whilst surfing some of my favorite blogs, and wish you a great Friday night! xo

Christmas is coming to Zurich

0 Permalink

Hey everyone! It’s getting all Christmas-y finally in Zurich – I’m get all excited! Tonight the lights were all turned on and we had a long shopping night in Zurich. I actually didn’t know about it until lunch today – guess I’ve been too busy these past days – so I forgot to take my camera with me this morning. Work is keeping me absolutely busy currently, though: that is what makes it fun & interesting in the end. Anyway.. I was able to take a few semi-good photos with my iPhone so I thought I’d share those with you. Oh, and I was at an art vernissage today at the Vertes Moder Gallery – absolutely amazing! A great friend of mine actually works there so I got a tour around the gallery and took my dad with me.

Now I’m finally at home with my feet up on my couch, watching Criminal Minds; so scary haha! I cannot wait for the weekend – I’ll be sleeping as long as possible, seeing my best friend here in Zurich, another two over lunch and probably going out on Saturday. So much to do, yet so excited. What are you’re plans for the weekend?

Alexander Wang x H&M Press Event

0 Permalink

Happy Wednesday everyone – I surely hope you all had a great day! I just came back from the H&M x Alexander Wang Press Pre-Shopping Event in Zurich. It. Was. Insane! Honestly – it was a mass that went into the shop and everyone was basically killing to get a piece – so much for VIP entrance the day before haha. But unlike others, I won’t have to stand in line tomorrow to have a 10 minute shopping experience (yes, they time you and you get a wrist band – insane!). I tried to take photos, but I’ll be dead honest with you guys: I was scared my camera would get smashed in the crowd haha. So I put it away and looked at the crowd trying to get as many pieces as possible.

Obviously I didn’t just stand and wait around. Smart little me was able to get the pieces I wanted straight from one of the ladies working there – but I must admit, I guess I was just lucky. So I got the top that I really wanted! I was thinking whether to get the white or black one, but the decision was easily taken because the white one was basically gone first. I quickly tried the black on when I got home and I must say I’m super, super happy with my choice: I am in love. Obviously, haha – it is probably not a big surprise that I am liking the black pieces more, once again. I will try and take a few pictures of me wearing the outfit in the upcoming days – so stay tuned!

I also got myself the leggings, which people were literally killing for. Then everyone wanted to go into the changing rooms. That is when my patience completely ended. I took both pieces, bought them and went home. I couldn’t have survived an hour standing in line. I’m not sure if I will keep the leggings though, so I might take them back in the next few days during business hours (hopefully when most people won’t have time to shop). Sadly, I just don’t look like that model in the campaign wearing it haha. Instead I might get another top. Shall see! For now, I am super, duper happy about my black top!

In general, I have to say: The collection is absolutely stunning, simply amazing. It is so “simple”, very sporty and yet chic. I love how the collection is made for actually working out and simultaneously you can go out clubbing with the piecees. Basically, you can do one after another! Though I do advice going out before getting all sweaty haha. I could have spent so much money tonight, it’s insane. I also love the coat with the embedded cap/hat, though I couldn’t fully decide and I think it might be a little too sporty for my taste. In the end, I enjoy timeless pieces (if spending those amounts) that I can wear a little longer. Nonetheless: I was breathtaken by the pieces. Which one is your favorite?
