Last Minute Gift Ideas for Her

0 Permalink

The gifting season is just around the corner and once again I receive all so many questions. Most of them sounding somewhat like “What do you want for Christmas?” or “Any idea what I can gift my mom/sister/best friend for Christmas?” It’s definitely not easy – especially when you wan to gift a little something, say thank you and come to the party with more than just a smile. Yet, that is exactly what most people want: people being happy, thankful, and most all – healthy. Remember that gifts do not need to cost anything, can be made yourself (there are some great DIY ideas out there) and some people really don’t expect anything.

If you still feel that you want to gift a little something, however, I have made a small list below ranging from low budget prices to higher pricing – and I can guarantee you will surely find one idea that everyone might like!

  1. Jade beauty roller for the face; find it here
  2. Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concenrate; find it here
  3. Under eye masks from patchology; find it here
  4. Cartier Love necklace; find it here
  5. HP Sprocket printer to print mini-photos on the go; find it here
  6. Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask; find it here
  7. Coco Chanel Mademoiselle – Eau de Parfum; find it here
  8. Prada card holder; find it here
  9. Chanel lipstick in the color 422 Olga; find it here
  10. Water bottle to keep your drinks 12h warm and 24h cold; find it here

Also, don’t forget to check tomorrow’s post for some last minute gift ideas for him!

Merry Christmas!

On this oh-so-special day, I want to wish everyone (to those celebrating) a Merry Christmas! For some it may not be as spectacular anymore as we remember it back from our childhoods. Honestly, I feel its changed much in the last couple of years. This year I am in Malta, visiting my family. Although I love visiting them, and I enjoy the sun and rather warm temperatures during the day – it’s far from feeling Christmas-y. Nevertheless, we decided to not stress ourselves this year, just go with the flow, enjoy the quality time with the family, loved ones, and friends. We had friends over for a big lunch and are keeping dinner rather small and not so fatty (the body will thank!). Perhaps we will start opening up some presents tonight, maybe continue tomorrow. This year it’s really all about not stressing and enjoying the time off. It feels so nice to be able to sleep in and not worry about the business or anything else other than when it’s time to eat, sleep or go for a walk (with the dog)! With that, I wish everyone happy holidays and joyful, continuing weekend!

Oh, how I love coming home. When flying into Switzerland and seeing the beautiful alps – it’s when I get all excited to being home soon again. Buh, I also love London. Especially this time of the year – when all the Christmas decorations are up and lighting up the city streets – it couldn’t get more beautiful. Tonight the Christmas lights will be put on here in Zurich; and I am so excited. It gives a feeling of warmth and love, despite the the freezing cold temperatures that are taking on the country. I will be meeting up with a few friends at Bellevue (in Zurich) to take a first sip of the hot wine (Glühwein in German) as the Christmas Markets open. I’m surely changing into some warmer clothes before it though! For lunch I am meeting a girl that I met at an event a couple of months ago (remember this?) – so excited! It’s such a great feeling to meet people more or less my age, outside of work for once, and talking about all things girly, beauty and fashion. Really looking forward to it! Tonight I’ll probably go for dinner again, as my fridge is screaming empty and there is no point in buying anything now. Why you ask? I am taking off tomorrow once more: Friday evening to Monday afternoon I’ll be in Malta. My dad is turning 50 (!) so we have a few family members flying into Malta where they have their home and will be celebrating on Sunday with a great dinner on Saturday. And yes, I am surely looking forward to the somewhat warmer temperatures before heading back here next week. What are your weekend plans? xo

Malta x Moving

Good morning! I am awake since 4.45am this morning and we are waiting for the truck. Of course, one disaster follows another. The truck wasn’t allowed out of the harbor because they made a mistake at the border control office. Fast forward 2 hours, I am now sitting here in a still empty apartment, but – with good news. I just got a call from my dad (whom went to the harbor at 5), that they are now allowed to continue. The truck should be arriving in 20-30 minutes from now and then we will start unloading. Unpacking is the theme for the next couple of days.

I thought I’d use this little mini-break though to update you and, provide you with some iPhone photos I was able to make last night. Since arriving here, we have been running errands constantly and in between I have been working on my laptop (business and studies – so much for vacation..). Now I am crossing fingers that everything goes well and that I can then enjoy the weather a little bit on the weekend. I brought so many nice, new bathing suits! It would be a shame to not use them. And of course, I want to use these few days to tan a little if possible.

The photos are from lasts nights dinner (horrific quality, I know), when we went to Surfside (a Restaurant here in Malta, right at the water). It has an absolutely breathtaking view and the food was amazing. At least, I can surely say that about my fresh salmon – and I can only recommend the place to anyone visiting Malta. The Restaurant has 3 floors to it, with a Shisha bar at the beach, a more lounge/bar area for enjoying just drinks and some great music (and from time to time supposedly big parties).

Now I need to jump – the truck is about to arrive! xo

June 1st

Happy 1st of June! How does time pass so fast, and how was it New Years only (feels like) yesterday? I know I am lacking updates majorly right now and my work and studies probably aren’t best excuse – because, well, they always tend to be. Nevertheless, much has been going on and my schedule for the next couple of weeks is full. Quite frankly, my calendar for almost the whole year is planned (more or less), with one trip at least once every four weeks. Now in June I will be in Geneva for business, Germany to see my family (sister’s high school graduation!), back in Geneva for business and then straight to Malta. My family is moving from Germany to Malta at the end of this month and so I will be helping with the move and exploring the Island a little bit. How exciting?! It’s the first time they are moving “big time” without me, as I am fully established and loving (yep, heard it right) Zurich right now. We’ve actually moved quite a few times (be it house, apartment, city or country), that I lost count. Nevertheless, visiting the family every couple of weeks in sunny Malta is something I surely cannot complain about in the future.

Here is a snapshot of a dinner I made a while ago with some chicken, a good’ol salad and my delicious salsa sauce. The recipe to the salsa was posted a little earlier here. I actually received a couple of things (make-up; yay!) the past days and wanted to share a little bit of it with you. Now the only thing keeping me from doing that is the cloudy weather (horrible lightning), and of course, my busy schedule. Latest on the weekend, though, I promised myself to take some pictures! I am actually so OCD that I couldn’t open the packages yet, because I don’t want them to look opened up already :’). So stay tuned on that one! xo
