Since I have Zaphira in my life I started going for walks so much more; naturally, of course. Yet, I get bored quite easily if the routine hits too hard and seeing the same scenery daily really doesn’t boost my imagination nor creativity. I likewise noticed, sadly enough, that I don’t know Zurich as well as I wish I did. I thus decided to try and find new walking routes at least once a month. This Sunday I started with taking Zaphira to the Wildnespark (Wild Animal Park) in Zurich. It’s really quite the nice walk in autumn – calm, quiet, not too many people but still oh-so-many smells that kept my little fur-friend fascinated at all times. I especially loved that dogs are allowed in the area – at least when kept on the leash. Likewise, there is no entrance fee – which was also nice. The parking (when arriving by car) did cost 10,- Swiss francs; though because this money is used to support the wild park I really didn’t mind the fee (it’s a one-time pay for the whole day). For those that want to go more often, one can also purchase a parking ticked for the whole year (for 100 Swiss francs).
I absolutely loved this new scenery (and loved seeing the Moose!) and will absolutely go back – especially to see the park throughout the different seasons!
TGIF! Though actually, the week has passed by so fast – once again! It’s unbelievable how the time just passes at such a pace. I swear, every sunday I think to myself “not again, monday tomorrow”. And as soon as the week starts, it’s basically over again. I love that though, and I guess that comes from me enjoying my job as much as I do – there is surely nothing worse than not liking what you do or just being bored. I couldn’t not do anything the whole week!
Monday night I promised to show you a few pictures of my birthday dinner. Now it’s friday already, sorry! Like I, most likely, mentioned earlier: the food was absolutely amazing! My dad surprised me by taking me out to the restaurant Kronenhalle in Zurich. It is one of the eldest in town and the reason being must be the quality. The food tasted enormously good – I still drewl on the thought of it. The service was spectacular – havn’t seen aynthing like it in Zurich so far! Obviously, I had to have some meat again, haha. Regarding the fact that I used to be a vegetarian for 3, almost 4 years, no one that knows me can actually believe that I basically live off of meat now. I have the feeling it fills me the most and provides me with the energy needed for the day ahead. I normally only have meat during the week at lunch time. At home I cook full-on vegetarian or even vegan at night (got to keep it all in balance!).
The birthday evening started off with brilliant white champagne, followed by a beet-apple-horseradish salade as a starter, deer-filets with red cabbage, rice, dates, grapes and smored apples as my main dish, some Moneterè (Valpolicella Ripasso 2012) red wine on the side and an espresso whilst trying to digest on what seems to have filled me over my limits previously haha. I also took a few photos of my dad’s food, though ended up making much less photos than I had planned. I didn’t even manage to get a picture of myself haha. And trust me, afterwards I was way too full, to think about anything further. So for anyone wanting a nice, chic restaurant with some french flair, I highly, highly recommend the Kronenhalle in Zurich.
That night I also decided that I want to try out a new restaurant atleast every month, to get to know more places around and in the city. Do you have any recommendations? It doesn’t matter what type of food or restaurant – I am open to (almost) everything! Tonight I will have another lovely late-birthday dinner with a friend. Next week friday I shall celebrate with the whole family (parents, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins – big crowd!) – absolutely looking forward to seeing them all again after such a long time!
Now off I go – work doesn’t stop and money doesn’t sleep haha. Have a great day everyone!
Happy Tuesday! Almost humpday and almost half way through with the week already, again! It's crazy how fast time flies these days. Two weekends ago ...
