Spring Essentials You Need

I cannot wait for spring to arrive! It is seriously one of my favorite seasons in the year – most likely because everything starts becoming green outside again and flowers start to blossom. It’s the time where the grey of the winter is being washed away and it seems that every ray of sun is being appreciated just that much more. Sadly, and to my disappointment, winter still hasn’t left us and it’s said to snow quite a bit again this upcoming week. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help myself but look into some online shops and make my own collage for some spring decorations at home. I could seriously buy of all these things.

I have this phase where currently I love everything black and white, with some subtle hints of colors. I don’t know why but I am fully hooked on these flamingo pictures right now. They are so simplistic, yet burst out this essence of spring that I am really loving right now. Funnily, or sadly enough, my apartment seems the opposite vibe from what I am imagining it to be. I love my home, don’t get me wrong – but it’s rather styled and decorated in earthy colors, warm browns and (50) shades of of grey fill my living and dining room; which essentially is where I am most of the time when relaxing a bit. Looks like I’m in need for some winter-wash-away in regards to my home decorations.

I totally fell for this black chair – and believe it or not, it’s actually quite comfortable when combined with a large fur. I couldn’t help myself but buy this chair last week to have in my ‘creative’ (or better: my study- and work-) room. The chair is actually from Confodéco here in Zurich, is much cheaper and even on sale right now (under CHF 100) – way to go! I placed one of my light grey furs on it, which is totally fine for the time being. Yet, it’s a bit too small and so I need something a bit larger. Oh, and in light beige whilst we’re at it. I love the version you can see on this collage.

I made the collage using Polyvore, so you can easily get the link to the individual items right here. On another note, I’ve been working on a new recipe the past weekend as well as this weekend and got an approval from my dad tonight that it’s ready for presenting it to you guys (meaning I can worry a little less when posting it online!). It’s the perfect party snack, great for dinners, a lovely meal to take to the office, easy to make and relatively low in calories (at least it contains neither sugars nor carbs – which I personally then like to categorize as healthy). I’ll most likely post it early next week, so do stay tuned on that one! Until then, I wish you all a great Sunday evening and Monday morning to come – new week; new goals! xo

Black, white and grey – there’s seriously no easier combination when it comes to clothes. I love polyore for making these collages – and for finding some amazing deals online.

With fall having arrived, it’s time to unpack those thicker cardigans, those ponchos, hats and scarfs. Alright, the hat might not yet be needed – but honestly, how cool is it? And there is probably no easier way to hide a messy-hair-day. This hat is my next buy for sure.

This grey cardigan/light jacket is amazing and under $50. For it not even being on sale, it really is an amazing catch.

I’m really in need for some new biker boots, as my old Zara ones just don’t do it anymore and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this pair from Moschino. What’s your opinion on it?

This tshirt is an absolute eyecatcher and gives all others an easy way to approaching you – there’s no cooler way of starting a conversation over a unicorn. Seriously.

These frends headphones are already in my collection and a go-to item when on the road. I couldn’t live without music and especially for those long fall walks I love having some music ring in my ears. Only need to be careful to not sing out loud with my favorite songs. :)

Leatherpants are a must-have in every closet, every year. You can wear them all the time, to almost all occasions (seriously, I’ve worn them in business before). They are warmer then jeans so it’s really my first grab in the morning when temperatures drop. These ones are a perfect fit.

I’m still looking for the perfect black scarf, and this one really caught my eyes. Surely a cheaper version though, as I’m still not convinced on the price for such an accessorie. Any opinions?

As much as I am complaining about the cold, I cannot wait to wear some of my thicker autumn and winter clothes – there’s just so much to combine! I’m throwing out quite a bit again to make more space for new shopping purchases. Cant wait for the next shopping runs!

I’ll surely keep you up to date on my purchases. Till then, I wish you a great continuing week. xo

Simplistic Interior Inspiration

Happy Sunday! Can you believe the week is almost over, again? I’ll be picking up my parents from the airport today and this afternoon I’ll start driving down to Zurich again to make it in time before I start working at the office again on Monday. Oh, and then I’m off to Geneva on Tuesday – the week starts of busy!

I’m currently all over the web (yes, at 8am on a Sunday because I can’t sleep at the moment) searching for inspiration and the right items to re-furnish my office at home – the one I like to call my ‘creative space’. The room bores me when only looking at it; yes, it has everything I need, yet it is the least inspiring room in the whole apartment. That can’t be! So I’ve decided to start my own little mission and re-decorate, re-furnish and spice up that room just enough so that my inspiration can spark again without dragging along the empty walls.

I am looking to get a more Scandinavian touch into the whole room – with lot’s of whites, grey, a few blacks and a hint of color here and there (can’t be avoided with all those magazines stocking up).

Now I’ve already gotten one of these beautiful items (well at least extremely similar) – can you guess? It’s been ordered but sadly will take another 1-2 weeks to arrive, so I will have to practice my patience :-).. !

I should probably get dressed now and take out the dog before making my way to the airport later – it’s going to be long day with lot’s of hours in the car so I am really looking forward to getting some fresh air and a few steps in my schedule now. Wishing you all a great Sunday! xo

Rolling out of Easter

Good morning lovelies! Easter has come so quickly and left even faster – can you believe it? I spent a lovely, lazy, long weekend here at my place in Zurich with the family. This year we decided not to go all crazy on chocolate (eggs), since every year we either complain that a) we ate too many :) or b) we throw them all away because no one really wants them. Instead, my mom and I tried out lots of different recipes for dinners and lunches and I went a little crazy in the beginning with my ‘healthy’ baking. The only annoying part was (and still is) my right wrist, which is still in a cast. I’ve stopped taking painkillers Sunday evening, and since I started working again yesterday, I’ve had some quite uncomfortable times with it – luckily I’ll get it off next Tuesday (crossing fingers that it won’t be swollen anymore then!).

Other than all the great food, I’ve absolutely enjoyed having the family over. In fact, it was the first time they came to my place – since my previous places were all too tiny (student-room sizes). I might have overdone it with my little white porcelain bunnies all over the living room – but hey, at least I admit to it! :) The weather has been awful last week though, and I felt so bad for my mother, sister and dog, as they always have bad luck with it here. It did turn quite nice though on Sunday and now it seems Spring is definitely on it’s way – or at least, let’s cross fingers that it won’t turn its back on us again! Now that everyone is gone again and I am back to routine, my food schedule should get back to normal again. Although we cooked more or less healthy only, I have the feeling I’m rolling off my bed now! ;( So now it’s back to doing some exercises in the morning and having my routinely 3 meals a day.

And now that it’s Thursday already, it’s only 2 more days till Friday! Can you believe it? I have another long weekend coming up (public holiday in Zurich on Monday) – so I am really looking forward to it; making it easier to get back into the routine! Wishing you all a great day, xo.

Gift Ideas for Christmas

Happy evening everyone! Christmas is coming so super fast – like every year haha. Are you all in the Christmas mood already? I’m really not – maybe that’s just me being weird, but it’s been like this the past years. The weather is grey and rainy but nowhere near do we have snow (which would make it feel more like Christmas I guess). I am now with the family at home in Düsseldorf and we have a little Christmas decoration going on here. My mother will decorate more and put up the tree over the weekend when I’m in Amsterdam – so maybe that feeling will come Monday evening.

I’m still in need of a present for my sister and dad – will I ever manage on time without having to hurry haha? Probably not! But I do know what to buy now – I only need to find the stuff. I am hoping to find everything in Amsterdam on the weekend – otherwise I’ll really have to go for a last-minute shopping on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Wish me luck!

Here are some ideas if you are still looking for some presents all to do with interior. I can’t get over pretty interior design stuff – homes just become so much more inviting with the right details.
