Good morning! Today is another fully scheduled day with meetings, a lunch, and another afternoon of the conference (I thought it was yesterday but no, it’s today! ugh.) The change of plans – or better say: me not knowing better – kind of swirled my agenda around a bit. I ended up working a bit longer yesterday to not stress too much today. Though I still do need to get quite a bit done!
Also, my parents came to Zurich again last week Thursday! Now I get to spend my lunches not only with Zaphira, but also have Elli (my mom’s Italian Greyhound) visiting me everyday. Even though both pups love each other, they are also equally jealous and always start crying super loud when they see each other. Especially Elli really has some loud squeaking going on haha!
Look at this little bundle of love! This is the friends baby that we visited over the weekend and I was sooo in love with. Seriously, this little boy basically never cries, slept 7.5h through Saturday night and only gets “loud” when he is hungry. He is such an easy baby and I really, really hope ours will be too in the future! Don’t get overly excited though, I am not pregnant nor planning to be in the next couple of years haha! There’s still too much going on in our lives and we want to enjoy the time we have for now :) Nevertheless: wouldn’t I be such a cute mom?! haha
Today I’ll be at the conference the whole day that I wrote about yesterday – let’s see what that will be like. Surely am looking forward to it!
I did it! I finally cut my hair a little more than usual – and it only took me two years of self-convincing. Not all too bad.
In all seriousness though, I always have to smile at how attached most of us women are to our hair. Cutting it from long (under boob length) to over the shoulder already seems like a huge step. And it was. Surprisingly, I felt quite at ease when walking out of the hairdresser. I guess that I have been planning this for so long, that now I was almost certain of exactly how it would look and no surprises came up. That is, you do have to trust the hairdresser – of course. Funnily enough, although a lot of people have asked me, I did nothing but cut my hair. The whole hairdresser visit took me around 45 minutes; including washing and hair drying it. I think that is the shortest time it ever took me. People have asked whether I have coloured my hair again – and although the light falls differently on the photos, there is no change in hair-color as such. Honestly,I have had some slight moments of doubt though, in the past days (I got it cut on the weekend). I either feel it is too short to do anything with it, or perhaps a little to long. I might need to thus wait a few weeks for it to grow just a tad more, or simply cut off another 5cm. I am very much leaning towards the second option. In addition: Is it just me or do I look more mature now? Surely feel like it, though!
What’s next? The week has started rather busy – then went a little quiet and is now fully blown packed again. Speaking of packed, I need to pack my little suitcase once more this tonight. Tomorrow afternoon I am off to Malta to see the family until Monday evening. I have decided to take a long weekend off – really need to catch up on some sleep and find a bit more me-time to work on my new projects. Speaking of – I most likely already told you that I have handed in my master thesis. Now is the time to relax and do nothing – you think? Of course not!I have already started something new that is utmost exciting to me, is done out of complete personal interest and is all about .. health! I will be telling you more on my next post. Lastly, there is another big, big, big thing happening mid next week and I am dying of excitement. It is something I have been wanting for all too long and now the time has finally arrived. Of course I will be showing you all about it – so stay tuned. If you cannot wait to seeing the news here, be sure to follow me on my other social media accounts! xo
TGIF. That is exactly what I was thinking last week, as well – right before I jumped on a plane to Hamburg. The trip was too short – as always – though I loved seeing everyone. After I came back quite late on Monday, Tuesday started early again at the office. Though it was a short week for me with only 4 days, it felt like forever.
As you might remember, I told you last week about me getting back into painting. I love it – it calms me down to mix the colors and then melt them together on the canvas without really knowing where it will take me or what the final product will look like. I got inspired by a digital drawing by @mersedova (instagram), and decided I want a Baywatch-like woman in my house, too. I think there is something incredible about the picture she drew – it’s both sexy and showcasing an empowering, self-loving and independent woman. Exactly what I like! So here is my final version of it – fully painted with palette-knifes and thick acrylic paints. I don’t use brushes and try to stay away from details as much as possible. Also, this is the first time I “painted” a face. I usually leave the face blank because 1) I am no good at them and 2) faces often define emotions. I want my viewers to be able to place their own emotion and feelings into a painting without being pre-stimulated by a facial expression. Nevertheless, this woman surely needed one – otherwise it would have been “incomplete” – or so I feel. What do you think of the painting? I’d love to hear opinions!
And now – off to jumping into the weekend (and studying, again…) xo
Hello loves! Time flies right now again – and at the same time, it doesn’t seem to move a bit. Have any of you ever felt this way? As you might know I got my tonsils removed 10 days ago. It’s already been 10 days, but then again only 10 days. I started bleeding again on Monday so I had to go back to hospital for two nights. I am still far from being fully recovered but it surely is going better now. Yesterday I finally left the house to go a little shopping now that all is on sale. It didn’t last all too long though, as I am still quite weak I noticed. Anyhow – no one likes reading complaints :)
I wanted to share a few photos with you of my favorite black leather trousers. They are the most comfortable pants ever, and still have that certain cool-factor to them due to the faux leather fabric and the sweatpants-look. I ordered them already a while ago at minimum – a danish company. They have similar ones actually on sale now, here! The long-sleeved shirt is from Zara and the sneakers are from Nike. The outfit is one of my favorites when I have that certain laid-back mood – and it almost reminds me of the Yeezus style. Pretty sure that Kayne would have approved as well.
Oh, and I did finally cut my hair. It doesn’t seem to be a lot to many and I doubt everyone notices the change but I did actually cut a full on 12cm. Like seriously, 12cm. Yes, I find it quite brave myself. I am still not a hundred percent familiar with the lenght and want to try out some new styles with it. I’ll try playing around with it as I am surely stuck with the length for a couple more weeks now. And quite frankly, I actually like having that extra hint of volume when waking up. What do you think of this messy, semi-wavy look? xo
