Christmas Wishlist

Happy second advent loves! It’s only two more weekends, two more candles, and then Christmas is right around the corner. I’ll be honest I am a little stressed this year with presents, and its seems I am not the only one. Family and friends have been asking me what I want for Christmas, and quite frankly – I cannot think of anything proper. There are a lot of things I see when I am on the go, a lot of things that would be nice to have, but really are not needed, or of course, there are the things that look amazing and you really do kind of want them, but they are too expensive to request them as a gift. That is exactly my position. My goal this weekend was to pick out some items, in no particular order of what I like best to least, but in different price categories with most of them in the rather affordable staple. I noticed that I love myself some nice watches and sunglasses – have you seen this color from the Dior glasses yet? Ahhh – I want them. And the watch, which is almost always sold out (typical, when you want something!). The boots and iphone case are actually found on one of my favorite websites (BestSecret.com), for which you need to be a member to shop. You only become a member through an invitation as far as I know – but do drop me a short note with your email if you want to be added! Another item that is really high on my (personal) list is the BeoPlay speakers – listening to music is like kissing the soul on the right spot. I always have music on when I am in the apartment and what I would love now is a speaker that I can take with me from room to room (let’s not forget I cannot have a huge bass station in one room and kill the neighbors by putting it too loud). The links with the items is right here:

What are you asking for this holiday? Or even better, what are you gifting? I really need to stock up on some more presents, otherwise the tree will look a little empty this year. For now however, I wish you all a great Sunday. xo

All Black Errthang

Can you guess my favorite color? I know it’s nothing new and nothing majorly creative, but black is the one color that goes with seriously everything, works with (almost) every event and can be worn at any time of the day. I can’t believe I’m actually looking through online shops for autumn and winter clothes whilst lying around in a bikini everyday here in Cyprus. Yep, I’m still on vacation and I won’t deny it – I absolutely love this weather, and my tan is getting on quite well. I am cringing at the fact however, that I will arrive back in Zurich Sunday evening in almost freezing temperatures. Where has the summer gone all so fast? I’m really not ready for snow – and I’ve seen some of my friends post snow pictures already higher up in the mountains. Cringe. Seriously cringe. It isn’t even November yet!

However, here’s to something better – I found some great stuff online. Some, of which I will share with you here on Polyvore. I love black jeans, and although I might already have the one or other pair, I am a true believer of never having enough jeans. Quite frankly, I do sort and throw some out every other season when they are worn down and the fit isn’t as great anymore. I love these ones with ripped knees from topshop for aound 50$ only! In fact, all of the clothes – except the lovely gold accessories – are below 100$ each.

I used to not love turtle necks whatsoever. This season, for some reason, they totally hooked me. This one is perfect and you even get a 10% discount on your first order – screams for a fuller basket! These shoes are perfect for autumn, go with everything due to the color, and look super comfortable due to the slightly thicker heel. I just bought a similar pair already, which is the perfect fit for business as well as casual looks. I love buying clothes that I can not only wear in my free time, but also greatly combine during the week in the office or even when I have meetings. This coat is also perfect – it’s got the slight edgy feeling to it due to the leather, yet is sleek enough to wear over a blazer when off to the office. To finish the look and keep myself from freezing I love wearing scarves in autumn and winter. I’m really digging those thick knit pieces currently, so this one perfectly satisfies my taste.

Last, surely not least though, I love pepping up any outfit with some accessories. Especially black can quickly look dull or depressing if worn with no accessories at all – or even worse – without the right attitude. Attitude seriously is everything when it comes to fashion. You can pull off almost anything if you lift your chin in the right direction and throw out a bright-white smile once in a while. Match that with red lips and you’ve easily transformed the outfit for the evening. This Chanel bag has been on my wish-list for way too long. So I’ve finally decided to get one for myself – maybe already for Christmas. This one is actually a secondhand item, only worn once, yet from the price already much easier on the wallet than straight from the store. I’ll be searching a little more for the best one, though will most likely go for a secondhand one as well. The bracelet and earrings are pieces that will always work, every season, every year, for every occasion. Secondhand versions, for those that don’t want to, or can’t, burn a hole into their wallet can be found here and here. I personally love buying secondhand pieces if possible.

Now I’m off to dinner with the family! It’s BBQ night tonight, which means there will be lots and lots of fresh fish and meat from the grill – I’ll surely have problems again choosing what to take. With that, I wish you a great evening and rest of the week. xo

An Addiction to Shoes

Diamonds are surely not a girls best friend, and shoes are not everything in life. But they surely can make me jump up and down from joy – oh, how I love buying new shoes. Oophs, I did it again (ha! Does that remind you of any song? Damnit, now it’s stuck in my head haha!). Honestly, I sometimes think I have this slight addiction to shoes. If feels like every cent that I save up someday suddenly is gone and a new pair of shoes or a new clothing item has replaced it, haha.

It’s also (once again, I know) no surprise that I love, but seriously absolutely, love black. I can’t even describe the emotions bonded to this color. It just fits: everyday, to every occasion, in every season, at any time of the day. So there is also no surprise that I chose black shoes! I actually ordered these lovely new pairs just a few days ago and was super surprised (and jumping of joy), when they already arrived yesterday at the office! Do any of you know that feeling when you just don’t expect a packet? I thought DHL was at the door, just handing me some documents. And then: BAM. It was my Nelly packet that arrived.

I love investing in clothes, especially in shoes, leather goods, handbags and coats. But then I saw these, saw that they were (super!) cheap compared to what I normally see that I actually fall in love with and was just mind-blown. And I did hesitate for a bit, I do admit it. But in the end I decided to go for it, just try it. In the end, if I don’t like them anymore next season or if they break or whatnot, I atleast won’t regret spending a fortune on them. Oh, and another major positive point: I got three pairs for the money I would normally spend easily on one pair. It’s a win-win-only situation!

What do you think? Invest or just go for the cheaper one from time to time? By the way: I am always on the outlook for new stores or websites to get some inspiration. Be it shoes, clothes in general or whatnot. Please let me know if you see something great!

Now I quickly need to pack together my bag and off I go to the office. It’s majorly pouring today (ugh!), but atleast that is a good excuse to wear my new shoes (#1)!

Live. Love. Leopard.

It’s no secret I am in love with the color black, that I love pairing it with gold and it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that I absolutely love leopard prints – especially on fur. I am usually not the person that is much into prints, especially not those majorly colored ones. However, animal prints have had me hooked since forever. Be it snake, tiger, crocodile or leopard – though leopard, in my opinion, beats it all.

Leopard prints have been in style (if one can say so!) since forever. Leopard coats have been seen on almost all influencing women known, from Madonna to Kate Moss. Since the blog hype started a few years ago, it is a must-have item in every closet. Now not only do I love the print on coats (I am still looking for the perfect one, which I can semi-afford), but on almost everything: from shoes, over bags, to iPad/iPhone cases, on bracelets, to my beloved and most-wanted coat. Today I want to show you some of my favorite pieces, most of which are on my not-so-secret wishlist.

I am a shoe-lover. Be it flats, loafers, heels, wedges or ankle boots. Since autumn is coming up and my beloved loafers will be getting too cold and some of my boots are still too warm, ankle boots are the way to go. Leopard ankle boots are surely on my wishlist this upcoming fall. Paired with a black jeans (ofcourse), a black cashmere sweater and some gold rings, these boots are the perfect round-up to a simple outfit.

Another item on my top wishlist regarding leopard prints is the perfect fur coat. Perfect, of course, is different based on each individual definition. Personally, I would prefer the fur to be quite short – I’d rather not look like a teddy-bear on the streets. I do not mind it being faux, though also do not want it to look too fake, making it possible to tell from a 2 mile distance. Preferably, I would want a longer arm to it and I would rather have it going into a natural beige/brown color than a yellow tone. Complicated much? I think so!

I have been looking online a lot lately and here is my find to some similar ones: here, herehere and a more affordable one here. Have you seen any great ones?

Handbags are one of those accessories that have the power of changing a whole outfit. They can make an outfit become more elegant, more edgy, wilder, younger or more mature. A leopard handbag gives that certain edge to an outfit. Combine it with red nails and a red lipstick and you become super woman leaving the apartment (just don’t over dot it!). Although one could probably wear leopard from head to toe – I’m the last one to say no to a complete leo-look -, personally I prefer playing with one outfit item. A leopard handbag is like that special spice that tops off any meal.
