Me, myself and my camera – that will be my main motto the upcoming weeks! I have always loved photography; especially being behind the camera and taking photos. I have read so many magazines about photography, read so many blogs and seen so much great photography throughout my life. I even invested into quite a bit of camera gear over the years to improve more and more on my own photography skills! However, as much as I tried working the manual mode, I never really got as far as being able to take photos in my sleep. Yes I can work the camera on manual mode, but it takes forever! There is also so much I believe I still have to learn when it comes to composition, color correction, story telling through photography and even editing. So I’ve decided to take a photography course that teaches all of it – from the beginning to the end. It is taught by Nadine Burck from Dreierlei Liebelei, whom is a German lifestyle, food and photography blogger and has been teaching since over 10 years now! I love her effortless looking photography style, her simplistic yet powerful pictures when it comes to photographing food and her character (or at least the way she presents herself on instagram), which is humble and forthcoming.
I have only just started week 1 from 10 (I believe) and cannot wait to see what is ahead of me. My first homework is easy: take photos. Take many photos, take bad photos, just take photos. So here I am, taking photos of my husband, our dogs and anything really that jumps at me. I am excited for this journey because it not only teaches me better photography skills but it gives me a great opportunity to spend some more me-time. And of course, I am hoping for better photo skills for you guys – yes for you, my readers, my blog, my instagram (and of course for myself, my family and friends)!

For anyone interested: I am shooting with my Canon EOS R, and will currently mainly focus on working with my 50mm 1:1.4 Sigma DG lens (added to the camera using the mount adapter EF to EOS R).
